Watching the live stream there doesn’t seem to be many spectators about. Glad I thought again about going today if the garages are out of bounds. Would have made me very cross

I see. Is Iain OK? I think he was stopped in the grass looking for something in the car. May be not him? BBQ under the umbrellas it seems.

Amazing day one! The weather held out till the last few moments off the roadsports.

Seeing 2 Ferrari 512ms, Lola T70s etc fighting for pole at the limit was incredible and probably a highlight of watching racing for me.

The garage situation most teams had either moved the barriers or said we could walk amongst the cars so no real problem there.

Great to see so many fast TVR's. Only one Jag' in the front batch? SLW Coupé it seems. Really fast too. If the yellow car is what I think it is, a Ginetta, it aint slow!

Apparently the engine in the 512 was the same as the one in the Ferrari F1 car of the same year. No wonder the F1 was quick! You learn all sorts of stuff from these commentators…
