Bathurst - Konica and BJTM
I thought it useful to start a single receptacle for all the chat on the practice sessions and the races themselves.
The first Konica session is over http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re...0/2003.MOUN.P4 Any surprises? Not really, Luff first Kelly 2nd, Winterbottom 3rd.. the first 2 have been there before (dont believe the driver in the name section, Wanless rented the ride to Owen Kelly) Speedy looks lost, a 2.29.3 is not anywhere close to good enough |

It lists seton as having a drive of the # 19 car.
What could this mean? Besnard is at odds of $51 to win. Wonder if its worth putting a lazy 100 on him. |

If you notice, Whincup is sharing Tander's car too, and Pretty is down the back with Simonsen...
They are playing with the combinations to see if there is any difference in the cars, in the laptimes A few years ago, when Brocky ran those 405 Pugs in the 12hr, he tested all 3 of the Pugs entered, and decided he didnt like the 05 car, and swapped to the 45 unit.... made no difference I guess anyway in the end, but it is something psychological.... And the TAB seems to be making car numbers stick as opposed to drivers in those cars |

I notice in the Natsoft list for P2 Setos name is also in car 19 which placed 2nd from a 18th in P1.
Other upward movers in p2 were 65( 10th to 6th) 66 (20th to 13th) 29 (35th to 8th ) 11 (19th to 7th) 6 (14 to 10th) 16 ( 24 to 16) 3 (22 to 18) 13 (23 to 21) 75 (25 to 22) 44 ( 26 to 23) 5 moved up oneplace from 27th to 26th , 45 (31 to 27) 24 ( 33 to 31) 20 ( 40 to 35) 99 up 1 from 37 to 36. 89 up 1 from 39 to 38. Some of these arent much of a gain some fairly substantial the car 29 effort is remarkable. |

Some only moved backwards one spot or two but others had significant losses.
17 (from 6 to 11) 4 (3 to 14 - Damn it) 9 ( 7 to 15) 2 ( 9 to 12) 50 ( 13 to 17) 15 (15 to 19) 31 ( 12 to 20) 10 ( 16 to 24) 888 (11 to 25) 8 (17 to 28) 021 ( 21 to 29) 33 ( 28 to 32) 23 ( 30 to 34) 69 ( 34 to 39) Hmmm Ellery and Andy Jones are the two major losers in that list hope they find some improvement. COME ON FORDS ( and team Dynamik and Lansvale ) Come On. |

I wish.. the car is that quick, no guarantee its Speedy to have done the time....
Having said that, it seems that the prediction for a pole time will be around 2:07.5 tomorrow.... which will put 107% at 2:16.4, not far away, but far enough I suppose Based on P2 times, there are 6 cars who miss out, including Bates x2, Johnson/Wade, Thexton/Voight, Miller/Searle, Elliott/Rose, Jones/Doulman, Fernandez/Coleman.... |

On a slightly related topic - the Torana that stacked up at Murrays while travelling at a fair clip, was that our own Patto?

So far I am dissapointed in TKR, although they don't appear to have done that many laps. After the speed they were showing at Sandown I would have thought they might be in the top 20, but they are going backwards. On the plus side I saw their new VY for the domestic series having a test at Pukekohe yesterday.

I assume the new boy, Mr Cleland was out in the 888 car, hence the drop in pace?
Keep me up to speed with this info coz we are flying blind here(apart from the BJTM website of course) |

didnt see any footage at all but it may well could have been Patto. Hopefully it wasnt but I have noticed that in the first race dave recorded a DNF. lets hope it was just a slight mechanical problem. |

Lowndes and Seton in 20th
Seeing as there are 40 cars, does this mean they'll run in the top group, or the bottom? Winterbottom in 7th. Has anyone ever won Konica and Then the main race the next day? What an achievement that would be. Last edited by Nevermind; 10 Oct 2003 at 01:44. |
