Bjorn Waldegard
Have seen a few posts on sites now about the passing of Bjorn Waldegard from Sweden.
The first recognised World Rally Champion, a racer to the last and a man who could turn his hand to any type of car, any event and win. Who can forget his mastery of the Safari events, his blatting through stages in Stratos, Escort, Porsche or Toyota. One of those stars as a kid I read about and wondered if I would ever see them like Alen, Rohrl, Mikkola and Munari. Will be sadly missed |

Bjorn Waldegaard
Unforgettable the last stage at the Sanremo 1976 against Sandro Munari both with the Stratos, he managed to win by few seconds...I like to remember him at the Safari and Bandama. Great total racer RIP
