fuel injecting a single cylinder engine

G'day
As some of you may be aware I run a team of students in the RACV Energy Breakthrough www.racvenergybreakthrough.net
which is a 24 hour "race" with limits on the amount of fuel able to be used. In my case 3 litres is allocated for the 24 hours. Our vehicle is running a GX31 (soon to be GX35 after stuffing the old one) and to gain an economy advantage I am thinking of fuel injecting the motor.

I am aware of all of the hardware required (I think) but the computer to run it is a mystery. I am wondering if anyone out there has had any experience in this area and is it worth the time and money.

Colin
