I think it was Callaway who ran their GT3 'Vettes in a couple of FIA GT races, in the G3 class.

Why indeed? So, let's go the other direction. Give a bit more fuel, so we can see an Art Arfons special. How about ten thousand pounds of thrust.

The issue here is not really the fuel efficiency of the diesel alone, but the fact that efficiency can be "traded" in mapping for power. Meaning of course, that you can give the others all the restrictor breaks and weight breaks that they can handle and all the diesel has to do is dial in a little less economy and up goes the power...presto, another win. The only practical way to "balance" is to take away that ability, and you can only do that by taking away fuel.

As someone has said, this is supposed to be a sport, not a science experiment. They tax me enough to promote alternative fuels. Do I have to subsidize that with my race ticket money, too?

Who is that "Soutern Swede"? Could be interesting if a Spyker was entered in ALMS 2007. Spyker has planned 3 testsessions of three days each. One of them has allready taken place. Michelin is backing all of these tests, that's promising. Every time Spyker used Michelins in 2006 they were stronger than when they used Dunlops. Aside from testing compounds they tested 4 new drivers and aerodynamics. Next test will be at Sebring. That's important because other teams will also be there so than we know how good they are compared to the Ferrari 430, Panoz Esperante and Porsche 997. I hope that "Soutern Swede" can profide a really good driver line-up because I still think, although they reached good progress in 2006, that the Spyker is not the better car compared to the Ferrari, Panoz and Porsche. In the Spa 24 hours FIA GT race the speed of the Porsche 997 and Ferrari 430 were almost equal so that's likely to be an exciting ALMS GT2 class for 2007!

Whew! For a moment here, I thought the Bear had misspelled "Southern." He hadn't.

The Swede, who is a partner in a Georgia racing operation, is a pretty good driver in his own right.

But running with 70 liters of diesel the R10 will turn less laps than any gasoline powered P1 and that would be silly.

Well if the part-time is the Robertson Racing is there any inkling of who will be presenting the "works" panoz team? Is it still Multimatic or maybe PTG or maybe???

ps. Also, if Interlagos is to become race#6 in LMS. Will we see any GT-2 teams cross the pond for PLM(auto-qualifier for LM), and then go to Brazil? Or maybe PLM, Laguna then Brazil?

Well I guess, we're pretty certain, that it probably will not be Multimatic.
But it still begs the question of whom?? But that is probably one of those "sanctioned knowledge" items that only the "better" ones know, that on the record, off the record, scat !
