A good win for Fortec's Oli Webb from James Calado and Buz in 3rd.

All 3 were with Fortec in F Renault in 2008

All a bit of a farce really. I'm not naming names, but I'm not sure all the offenders were penalised, because in the last two laps of qualifying everyone is going to be going faster.

If my suspicion is right, the ones who definitely suffered were the ones who did the right thing and did back off.

Nice to meet and speak to Westfield Bend today. Unfortunately you missed the only action today which was in the last Ginetta race. Hope to see you again tomorrow.

I see James Calado confirmed as 2nd in BF3 championship after race 2. Webb got pressure on as Buz now 13 pts behind in the race for 3rd place.

Well done JC!

I read an article in Octane Magazine a while back by Tony Dron who enthused about James Calado and his ability to pick out fast lines in the wet. He wrote "Straight away I knew I was being driven by someone special".

Going by todays result for race 3 at Brands he clearly has a gift for mastering the wet stuff...

Can't wait for that one on tv.

Was a great race for Calado - made standing in the rain worth it 100%!! Made for a really interesting race with differing strategies, and a lot of respect is due to guys like McKenzie who kept it on track on slicks for the duration.

Oh, and kudos Idafar, great way to wrap up the title and real ballsy drive!

Just looking forward to seeing it again on TV...

The f3 race was fantastic, not unlike Silverstone, same winner. Shame for Svenson Cook, seeing him pit for wets at the start looked as though a brilliant move. Without the Brundle road barrier, he could have been up there. Brilliant performance from Calado, Buller was also on fine form.

The last race of the reason and probably the best.

The rain just before the start is what made it. Some changed to wets after the green flag lap, some waited until the rain became worse and then changed, some stuck it out on slicks throughout. JEV wasn't on form all weekend and eventually slid off at Druids to post his first retirement of the entire season.

Results:
Code:
Pos Driver Team Car Time/Gap
 1. James Calado Carlin D/V 40m09.900s
 2. William Buller Hitech D/V + 8.152s
 3. Menasheh Idafar T-Sport D/H + 30.186s
 4. Adderly Fong Sino Vision D/M + 31.621s
 5. Jay Bridger Litespeed D/M + 36.554s
 6. Daniel McKenzie Fortec D/M + 36.878s
 7. Felipe Nasr Raikkonen Robertson D/M + 38.411s
 8. Carlos Huertas Raikkonen Robertson D/M + 42.020s
 9. Adriano Buzaid Carlin D/V + 48.668s

11. Jazeman Jaafar Carlin D/V + 1m03.388s
12. James Cole T-Sport D/H + 1 lap

Retirements:

Daisuke Nakajima Raikkonen Robertson D/M 24 laps
     Hywel Lloyd CF/Manor D/M 22 laps
Gabriel Dias Hitech D/V 22 laps
Maxim Snegirev Fortec D/M 15 laps
     Jean-Eric Vergne Carlin D/V 12 laps
Lucas Foresti Carlin D/V 5 laps
Pietro Fantin Hitech D/V 3 laps
     Alex Brundle T-Sport D/V 2 laps
     Rupert Svendsen-Cook Carlin D/V 2 laps
Random but interesting fact: The fastest lap of 1:17.461 set by Felipe Nasr in Race 2 was a F3 new lap record for Brands Hatch GP, beating the previous mark set by Jaime Alguersuari.

Random but interesting fact 2:
One F3 driver, who will remain anonymous, put the wrong MSV circuit into his sat nav on Friday and drove from Oxford to Oulton Park !!!! then to Brands

Must have been JEV, because he had his worst weekend of the season!

Not JEV

A Clue, he was one of the drivers who drove with Fortec in F Renault in 2008

Hmm. You've already been kind enough to list them.

I can't believe it was either James Calado or Oli Webb, because they should know their way around the MSV circuits, so I'll plump for Adriano Buzaid.

Remember Fortec had a 4 car Euro Renault team that year, one of whom didn't get to drive in F3 but is training to be a lawyer.
