Did you try it for the trade days? I think it is only for the Sat/Sun. I tried it earlier and it worked ok.

They've been doing it for a couple of years now since they took over P****n H***s and started encouraging the boy racers to attend.

News on The HSCC website of a BIG line up of F3 cars and drivers in celebration of modern F3 launch on their stand at the show. List of names etc. Interesting.

I used to go to this event every year but have not gone for three years.

In 2009 it just was not the same anymore.

Maybe I am becoming ' an old grump '

Had to laugh, we got our pre-paid tickets through today and to "reduce the carbon footprint of Autosport International" they are e-tickets...but we still have to print them out, so it reduces their CF and increases mine

Spoke to Mark Burgess owner of Karting Magazine yesterday and he is back there again.

I also gather that there is a good karting presence this year.

If I can get there, I will but have so much else on at present one way or another ...

Been helping setting up a stand today. Saw one of the Karting stands - impressive: karts on rails in the air

Hiya,

If I can get there, I'll pop over and say 'Hello'

Which stand are you on?

7450 - 'Go Motorsport' - but only manning the stand on Sunday. I'll be there as a punter on Saturday.

Hiya,

If I do go, it will be on the Sunday with "All the other tyre kickers" ...

I'll post Saturday if I am going.

Have fun on the stand and enjoy the beer ...

I went yesterday and have got to go again tomorrow :-( Some interesting historic cars there, nice Historic F1 display for us 70s/80s aficionados. For some reason I missed the Senna Tribute, must try and take time off stand tomoz. Pretty much the same conversation in the trade as last year, pretty much the same conversation in the trade as next year!

In short if you go, you'll enjoy yourself, if you don't go there's always next time, you won't have missed anything life changing!

The show was excellent all because it has been added to (in my opinion) by a large element of historic racing content. in the past I've wondered why I've gone to it - too much glitz and glamour (not that I don't LIKE a bit of glamour mind) but this time it was a good show (apparently thanks to Kate Woodley their development Mngr who wants to add more History, Manufacturers and clubs to the show. The HSCC stand was impressive with 60 years of F3 line-up.

The engineering side of things was pretty active with a lot of gearbox technology and amazing CNC machines that could do somersaults in metal.

I have to agree, in my opinion this was the best NEC Show for at least 5 years. The Watkins Lecture was very enjoyable as ever.

Enjoyable, much time catching up with those from days past on the HSCC stand, and yes the historic gathering a great improvement. One blot from the day, London Midland, and they want another 32 billion.....
