Still no news on the Gallardo LP560 GT2? I know it was there during the test days at Paul Ricard, but it didn't set a time. Does anybody have some additional info?

It was there, but mostly to show the scrutineers where they were at. It is a WIP but Reiter was confident in having the car ready to race by Barcelona.

If you are a member, DSC has additional info.

According to „Speedweek“ Reiter solved the electronic issues that stopped the Gallardo at Paul Ricard but didn’t had time for sufficient testing. They are testing the car at the Salzburgring today and if everything goes well they will bring it to the FIA GT media days.

From the exterior it looks like a pretty standard LP560 with a rear wing.

The nose of the trophy car looks more advanced: http://www.lambocars.com/gal/gallard...feo-images.php

I don't think it does, but it looks like it may have needed it with all that snow around!

Thanks for the link.

Anybody know what we could be looking at in terms of entry numbers for the new Trofeo series this year?

Thanks mirkob for the link! I cannot wait to see how this performs in the LMS.

I would be 99% sure that the car is RWD, isnt AWD drive banned in the GT classes?

Hans Reiter of Reiter Engineering confirmed that he would also be building a new generation GT1 car: “As some of you may know, Lamborghini has recently released a new version of the Murciélago, SV version, 670 hp, 6.7 litre, and this will be our car for the GT1 World Championship. Unfortunately, the car is not ready yet as the car was only launched in March, but should be ready for the second part of the season,” he explained.

Really looking forward to this new beast!

With world GT1 being based on GT2 cars would it not make more (economic) sense to develop one model instead of a Gallardo for GT2 and a Murciélago for GT 1?

I am glad they will take the Murcielago as a basis, but I also have to say that the choice is remarkable.

- The Murcielago is being replaced in 2 years (or earlier?)
- They can take the Gallardo GT2 (or GT3) as a basis.

But maybe Lamborghini wants to show that the Murcielago is still the top dog?

The last Ford GT was built at the end of 2006...

Developing a GT1 and GT2 isn't that a bit to much for a company like Reiter?

I know that the Ford GT is an 'old' model, but there is no successor now and there won't be one in the coming years. That is why they still can use it.

Reiter does a lot of work for Lamborghini (if I'm correct) and my guess is that the only want to race with the newest models.

So I don't understand why they develop a new GT1 version of the Murcielago LP670 when a replacement is due in a few years.

nice to see Reiter developing a new car for next year GT1, Ratel series seems to be open for structures like Reiter, Matech, Callaway, maybe he had enough from the constructors !

Reiter has shown the new GT3-car based on the LP560.

Has the same engine then the Audi, 5.2 litre V10, producing 570 hp.

Reiter has developed an update kit to GT2-spec for this car, so it can be entered in GT2 and in GT3.

Few more details for those of you who speak German:
