On Sunday the V8s on OneHD again didnt make the Top 20 on the MultiChannel list. Number 20 was A FRANKLIN & FRIENDS ADVENTURE: DEEP SEA VOYAGE on ABC2 with 164000 viewers.
Bit of a worry that our top motorsport catagory is getting out-rated by 5 minue-long re-runs of childrens' programs.

You mustn't have children to make that comment.........every parent puts those kids shows on to shut the little buggers up and preserve their own sanity.

Sunday figures were 65K for Foxtel and 110K for Ten/One.The total is about 60% of the viewing numbers for Barbagello Sunday in 2014.

v8 supercars are saying 273K or down 55% however they are claiming saturdays coverage was up on prior year and naturally so was fridays to be down 23% for the weekend.

Sunday was less than saturday which is far from normal

Lots of reason Sunday was down including the telecast finsishing at 6 pm which meant replay was not at normal time on saturday afternoon at 4pm

Lets see what happens at Winton before drawing any conclusions

Best of luck with that Pecky.

The rest of the motorsport world is already asking serious questions. Beretta and the roar article are evidence of that.

Trouble is brewing and some parties heads are firmly in the sand

Beretta, where does he work again? oh wait the competition and bitter ex telecaster.

No ones head is firmly stuck in the sand, but mature heads are waiting to see what happens over time not draw a conclusion based on one race.

Bitter ex telecaster? Looking at the ratings and the plight of the series since the deal was signed in 2007 - I am not seeing much bitterness from channel 7?

Its not 1 race Pecky - its 3 races. All with a decline, 2 with dramatic decline. These were even anticipated prior to the season and it was put down to scaremongering. Proof - Pudding.

First it was crickets fault , then it was U18 Rugby League game - what next Shute shield rugby?

Apologies 82k for V8s and 80k for Junior Rugby League.

That must be very reassuring for V8SA

Why can't Ten air the SuperSprint rounds live on One but only the V8SC category and normal schedule for SuperStreet and Enduro live on Ten. If there is not a lot of interest in TV viewing then we could expect V8SA to be knocking on Ten's door to air the races live at the end of the year.

They have deliberately destroyed One in the hope that Foxtel will buy more of a stake and rescue them from the monumental pile they are in...

They could if they had wanted, but they were not prepared to pay enough money to do so.

70% of the tv audience watch the 6 key rounds that ten has which includes the enduros

Fox was prepared to pay to simulcast those 6 races but show all the other races live as well as provide much more other things like HD live qualyfying and practise many supports live

That's true but deals can change. Whereby if the sporting body comes knocking or renegotiate the deal then it can change. Foxtel can only buy 14.9% stake in the company. If the Abbott Government relaxes the media rules then it will be likely that Foxtel will takeover the company. Then we can start seeing Foxtel selling their ads to Ten, Foxtel, Fox Sports and Ten go into the AFL, NRL and Soccer rights together and force Seven and Nine to accept Ten or even Fox10 News.

Article in the finance section of the Sydney Morning Herald on Thursday indicated all is not rosy in the Foxtel garden. They have not gained sufficient extra subscribers to compensate them for the revenue they dropped from the big price drop at the end of last year. The Arrival of Netflix and other streaming services is having a big affect.
Overall they are hardly taking over the world as some people have hypothesised but rather they are struggling to stand still in an increasingly diverse media world.
