2000 Bathurst 1000 - Theme song

Hey guys.

I have a bit of a request here, an unusual one at that. As we all know channel 10 (and 7) make a compilation video at the end of their race, to show whilst the credits are showing. At the Bathurst 1000 in 2000 (or 2001? one of the really wet races anyway), at the end of the race, whilst the video was showing, they had a song, which I have been trying to find for a long time but cannot for the life of me find it. If memory serves me right, it had the words "I had a vision, a really strong one" or something possibly similar.

It was one of the best put together videos I have ever seen while watching credits for a v8 race. If anyone could tell me the name of the song, I would be super thankful!

Kind regards

Stido

2000 was the "big wet". I *may* have the 2000 race on tape...which I can go through (if i can find). I know one year they used "elevation" by U2...I think that may have been 2001 though.

Hey mate,

Yeah i thought i had the race recorded for 2000 bathurst, but i cannot seem to find my videotape. It was the song they played at the very end of the sunday telecast. Was a really good song, and the clip that was playing in hte background was second to none. Then, come to think of it, the race was brilliant as well! too bad holden won lol

The song at the end of the 2000 broadcast is Fall by Single Gun Theory.

Quote:
Energy never dies, just changes form

It is impossible to achieve the aim without suffering

The sea calls me to the end of the pier
The sky is clear
So is the ending
The termination
In this moment of realisation

I have a vision of a very calming place
Where we fall like lovers into embrace

We fall like mist on mountains
Sensibilities lost
Like meteors from heaven
A stone in water

I have a vision of a very calming place
Where we fall like lovers into embrace

Energy never dies, just changes form

The time is now

I am going to count from one to three, and when I count the number three, your feet will be lifted off the ground, and you will be pulled by that silver white cord. One... two... three...

I have a vision of a very calming place
Where we fall like lovers

I have a vision of a very calming place
Where we fall like lovers into embrace

It is impossible to achieve the aim without suffering

It is impossible to achieve the aim without suffering

Energy never dies

The time is now

Well I found the tape....Have never heard the song before...I would have guessed Madonna..but I guess not. Some observations:

- Go Bargs!
- "What on earth was matt neal doing"
- Jason Bright looks so much younger...owning his own team must have aged him quickly.

Does anyone know the name of the song that played at the start of Bathurst 2000 - it was a song made especially for Bathurst and mentioned drivers etc.

The Theme song

Single Gun Theory, of course, how can i forget they're awesome.

First of all i have say thank you, thank you to Stido for asking that question, and secondly i have to say Garbo 6 you are a BLOODY LEGEND!! :-), you have no idea how crazy this has been driving me to find that song. I absolutely love that song .

I can't believe i found it on a motor sport forum site of all places. I haven't heard it in years and Believe it or not that song came to me in my dreams about a month ago and in my dreams my mates were trying to help me find out who sang it, and after i woke up the search began.

i joined this site just to thank you to you and as stido said, i think i love you too,

Mate i hope you get this message even though it is years later. Just goes to show how amazing these things can be somtimes :-)

"Faster" by the late George Harrison. Great stereo effects from the British GP in '77.

Proves the nugga nugga crap from ac/dc, bon jovi, motley crew/etc is as lame as a camry.

The way V8SA are going at present, this should be their 2012 theme song.

This is the true theme song for V8 supercars at the mountain.
about 1.10 in is the line that means the most.
