I bought it on the weekend. Used it a little at Croft on Sunday but as it is my first digital SLR, I don't really have anything to compare it to. So far it seems fine!

Here's a couple of my favourites

Right place, right time to see a historic mini rollover!

And I like the speed in this shot of Lowndes heading towards Forrests Elbow

hi,
all of the pictures in this thread are truly awesome

my son took this one:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e4...012dan0009.jpg

he is by no means a proffesional and the camera it was taken on was a kodac from boots.
i thought id share it with you as he is really surprised how well it came out. it is by far his favourite and its also his brother so it has a good meaning.

thanks

ian

Taken at Brands, the Tigers display team at the DTM meeting.

Sigma SD9 with 28-300 lens.

I just love the colour depth.

Though this is a tiddly jpeg which doesn't do the full X3F pic justice!!

One of my favourite shots taken at a race meeting.

Thanks

Yeah, the Thommo one was taken at the entry to Druids, one of my favourite spots at any circuit - if you look closely you can see some smoke coming off the tyre where it's locked up.

As for the camera it's a Fujifilm S7000 - it's not ideal for motorsport as there is a bit of shutter lag, but I find if I pre-focus I get some decent results. Plus I'm too lazy to carry an SLR and associated gear around...

You can pick up a used Oly E-1 for around £250... Including the big battery pack. Lenses are available, the 40-150 comes in under £100 NEW, so a used one will be less.
See the Donington Testing thread for images this lens can produce?
There are plenty of other options based around Canon and Nikon and Pentax and Minolta/Sony, just don't buy NEW...

Nope, just removing some of the crowd in the background - that was the actual air he was getting!

New D-SLR this year, so hopefully will be able to focus out the background.
