They just showed the back stretch and there are damp patches.

If they don't race and it looks unlikely that they will, that 's going to affect Bourdais and Dixon, particularly Dixon because he's second in the championship, as they both have to be at Le Mans tomorrow.

The race has now been postponed until tomorrow, 2:00pm but I didn't hear whether that was ET or local time.

Edit:
2:15pm ET.

The Canadian GP is being broadcast from 2:00pm ET, with the race starting at 3:00pm ET.

That will make for some interesting viewing.

Yannick should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

I don't believe the teams would like to call in their reserve drivers because their regular drivers would need to go elsewhere to drive because of the postponement.
Probably, the regular drivers' individual contracts spell out how exactly this situation is to be handled.
However, I guess it would be kind of interesting to see a few reserve drivers in that Texas race, even if they would have to start from the back. They would need an additional practice session before that, though, and it's hard to imagine they would get one.

On another message board, somebody mentioned the drivers which need to arrive at Le Mans soon are not just Dixon and Bourdais, but Aleshin and Townsend Bell as well. Since Bell is not racing at Texas but merely commenting, finding a capable pundit to substitute for him in the booth should be a lot easier than the actual racing drivers, if need be.

All of the teams in question, Ganassi, KVSH and Schmidt have run additional cars at Indy and/or have an associated development driver. Most likely, they have already phoned these guys to check if they are available just in case.

But why do I even bother? This is still being held completely out of my time zone.

Both drivers won't make it to Le Mans to Monday and will do scrutineering then. Indycar is their priority and ACO are working with them to accommodate

Aleshin and Bell effected as well

We may not have the 3 races in 1 timeslot. Fort Worth weather looks grim indeed for this evening.

Here's a link to the weather in the Fort Worth area. I've found this site good for US weather forecasts.

Not to downplay the significance or sadness of it, but the awful news from Orlando has thrown the network coverage of both races today into a frenzy.

CNBC for me as you indicated. F1 is going to wait as I've missed the start due to channel swapping. Pre-race interviews on going in Fort Worth. Looks dry and I think I see the sun.

Terrible news.

I've tried CNBC but nothing, just stock prices.

Well as far as I can tell,

the bad news is that there will be almost no live coverage. Certainly nothing I can watch over here in Europe.
the good news is that there won't probably any race at all.

I checked on live timing on the IndyCar website and it said no track activity.

In general, IndyCar aren't very good on their live news updates.
