Serrales is quickly becoming the reversed grid master!
Shame that DNFs are so much penalising with this point system anyway, Lynn's and Bonifacio's respective retirement are really hurting them at the standings, so far. I could imagine that it is forcing drivers to be more conservative, too. |

A very bad case of over inflated expectations it would seem.

The only thing I can think of is that as Toyota is a highly competitive series, albeit in old cars, whereas last year was hardly a golden year in terms of British Formula Ford, it is possible to try to go too far too fast?
There is so much pressure on drivers to achieve quickly whilst really young these days, I can see how something like this might happen. |

He then of course went on to do the two end of season GP3 tests with Status who I understand were pleased with his performance. I think we all have to be careful to judge when we are not in possession of all of the facts. Personally I hope he does continue his career and builds on the experience he gained in his FIRST season of racing though I would prefer to see him lowering his sights a little. GP3, especially with the new 400BHP car, would be a very big step. He would be far better off putting last seasons experience to good use by continuing in Formula Ford, especially now that it has the new aero package, or taking over Scott Malvern's car from last season (which is owned by Cullen Motorsport) in Formula Renault (BARC). I wish him well. |

I agree. But also we will see how good Evans is. He was a class apart last three TRS seasons, but a bit inconsistent in his GP3 campaign.

Yeah, he kind of cracked a bit under pressure at the end especially at Monza, but he's just sooo young. At his age he is truly needing 3 seasons in GP2, but I have the feeling he'll surprise faster

same, i would have thought the sensible idea would have been to park him in 3.5 whilst he gets some more experience under his belt without faffing with tyres, and then let him have a go at gp2. worst case scenario is that he ends up with bianchi syndrome - everyone only sees what he *should* have done and not what he has done.

Won race 1 already...
Feeling a bit sorry for the others. The guy turns up cold, gets 3rd in practice 1, then dominates practice 2, practice 3, qualifying 1, qualifying 2, and then race 1. And we still have 2 races to go in this week-end! Of course he has more experience than most of the field, but still. |

I think Mitch and all the others should be a bit more worried about the guy who was 2nd in qualifying just 0.052 behind him, since he was only until recently gaming, not sim testing, just gaming in his bedroom

I think all the "been karting since the age of six" stuff will be replaced by simulator educated drivers by the end of this decade. About time too imho. |

Mitch Evans won the race, Alex Lynn second & Pipo Derani 3rd.
Jan crashed out at the first corner. Perhaps real raving experience does help :-) |

After the race, Evans was wearing Red Bull clothing. I guess Mark Webber may have borrowed him a tshirt.. http://instagram.com/p/VNu5jVBJ_w/
