I thought it was supposed to follow immediately after the GP ? Instead there are two news programmes and a football program between them...

I thought so. I heard them on Toca radio saying it was right after qualifying and thought I was going mad because I thought it was after "on the ball". Why isn't it being shown at the right time? Is it something to do with the other regions showing it now?

On the Ball is in between F1 and BTCC, so no of the general public that watches F1 will stay switched on. I'll be watching the F1 closely to see if they mention BTCC...

What a shame it's not being shown immediately after the F1 qualifying. Or maybe they have a cunning link planned and On The Ball is really all about York City
Now what's the betting that between now and then I manage to forget all about the Touring Cars being on the TV... |

I think it's probably going to move next to F1 soon. There can't be much football left to talk about can there?

Theres only a couple of on the balls remaining, I think it was just easier to show on the ball in it's usual place, just to prevent confusion.

Wouldn't know, got bored with the F1 coverage
Good coverage again, but it would have been nice to see a bit more of the proddies, especially the Simon / Edwards battle in the feature. Was there any sort of feature item before they showed the sprint race? I just got home in time to see the start of the sprint. |

They interviewed a few of the drivers before the sprint, showed bits of qualifying and the track layout and discussed ballast and how much time it cost per lap. The main feature was that bit on Honda I think - was that between the races? My memory is terrible!!
That was good coverage! And I had tears in my eyes yet again when they interviewed Paul after the feature! I was crying at Oulton tho - so it's an improvement! Last edited by F1spanna; 27 Apr 2002 at 15:29. |

Yeh the Honda part was between the races. Our friend Mr B&Q was shown giving Steve Wood a delightful sign, John you really should get some sponsorhip on that race suit!

Yeah, it's good to see BTCC back on telly. BBCs coverage never did it justice. Just hope that ITV maintain more regularity than BBC did. Overall, I thought the coverage was pretty good. Will Hoy's input was a nice touch, but I thought they concentrated on the front of the field a bit too much. There were too many vauxalls on my screen! It's a shame because there were some fantastic little battles going on through the field in both races. Not bad for a first effort though!

i thought Will Hoy was a better co-commentator than Goodwin as well, he really put his back into it!

And if anyone watched the F1 race today, on Martin Brundle's grid walk they even talked about Footy there, but when it comes to the BTCC they won't bother to mention that would they?

Back to the topic though, it's good to see ITV have delivered such a good show - knocks the Beeb's efforts into a cocked hat without breaking sweat. Ok, so maybe ITV aren't pushing the series yet, but then again, it's miles better than the "once in a blue moon if ya lucky" attitude the BBC took towards airing the sport. |

Actually, when you talk of not watching the BTCC on TV for the last couple of seasons. I can now say that with watching the two rounds on TV this year, I've seen an equal amount of TV coverage to what I saw through the whole of last season. |
