NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! (TC at Le Mans) :(

I read at Autosport.com that Traction Control is to be legalised for next years claasic.

Didn't say much more though.

Bloody thing, is nothing ever going the right way?

Motor Racing is being slowly destroyed.

Can't imagine it would be very popular. Doesn't it stress the engines something 'orrible? Some over in the F1 forum suggest that's part of the problem JPM has with BMW...

I can't see how TC would work over 24 hours. I wouldn't think there were many times drivers would need it on a per-lap basis, anyway (I'm assuming it would only be on corners where drivers are pushing 100%). Or are the days of nursing a car long gone?

Read that :

"The organiser of the Le Mans 24 Hours has announced a raft of regulation changes to be introduced over the next two years.

The most radical is a plan is to allow diesel engines for 2004. Daniel Poissenot, sporting director of Le Mans governing body the ACO, said: "We are talking to a number of manufacturers about building diesel engines. We are examing the areas of equivalence to allow them to compete for outright victory. But nothing is finalised."

A number of changes will be brought in for next year's race. These include the legalisation of traction control and new regulations for the GTS category to allow cars built with carbon fibre chassis.

Also for 2004, there will be a 10 percent reduction in engine power for all classes"

Won't be very efficient... some jalopies...

Well, let's not be pessimistic... LM death was anounced several times, and it never happend...

The problem with tc is that it is nearly impossible to control. The systems used are/would be nearly the same as the systems in F1. If the moneymachine of Bernie can't find ways to control it, how can the ACO/ALMS find a way to control it?

TC is horrible in a race engine, but at the moment I think it is nearly impossible to control a ban. So legalising it is the only way to go

As for the diesel engines, why not, it's just an other engine option. And the engine options is one of the stong point of Le Mans/ALMS
