Flash Guns & Dig'-info req'd

Ok, I'm after info again! Using the 10D, I need to invest in a decent flash gun for it as I have some work to do for a mag and will (almost certainly)need some shots taken inside aircraft cabins and inside exhibition halls of stands etc. I'm a bit loathed to pay through the nose for Canon's Speedlight 550EX (I presume thats the one I need?)to do the job. What is there from Centon/Vivitar/Sunpak that will do the trick for less money? Any help chaps would be great

Based upon the large areas to be illuminated, any single flash would be a problem. Several auxilliaries would be needed as well as a radio operated synch system. The `consumer' variety of synch systems that are photoflash triggered will prove unreleable at any significant distance and could be falsely triggered. Are you sure that a flash is necessary in the first place? If you are shooting static images, the `magic' of digital might be all you need.
