Years ago, maybe, '96(?) They started 75+ at the June Sprints at Road America, same year they had nearly 200 SRF's in the same round.... they completed two laps before it went red>checker..

Plus 11 older Lites cars. 23 in total. That's about the same number as previous but this time with newer and faster machinery! Hope the number grows as the season progresses and maybe we'll see 25+ cars for the Petit.

I think it will. Lots of P3 chassis on order right now, I think we will see the older Lites cars disappear as the season rolls on, just like PC.

Besides, there's no denying we'll see more and more P3s (mainly Ligiers of course) competing in N-A in the near future.

The next weekend in VdeV, (4hours of Barcelona) there are Adess, Ligier, Norma Lmp3 and Ginebra G57(chevy engine) and Renault RS01 Trophy spec in the prototype entry list.

Do you or anyone know anything about V de V coverage online this year?

Was ok last year but basic

Also surprised to see so few G57s, but I guess they have all moved to Creventics 12 hour

How fast is the G57? Doesn't it have a lot more power than LMP3?

I still think that the homologation regulations are a hindrance to the class. Someone like Adess showed up with a lemon and are basically out of it now. There should at least be a time period where they can race the car and improve it before the development freeze.

Sebring update: the Riley, Norma and Ginetta all ran on Wed. The Norma is fast outta the box it seems, the Riley looks and goes quick as well. As far as the Ginetta goes, Wilzig is in the car.....

Plus a bunch of Ligiers.

Overall the cars are fast, look great and sound fine! Mix in the older Lites cars and suddenly we have a series with 2 classes, 2 different engines and 5 different chassis - plenty of variety. Looking forward to the races.

Interesting that, so far at least, most of the P3s aren't really getting clear of the DP02s.

I think they're over 200kg lighter. An interesting mix of cars.

Boy, it'd sure be nice if IMSA would post some practice/quali results from PC so those of us who were unable to be around could actually take a look at the lap times. -.-

they have all results there.

And to follow up on times, it is a very interesting mix of LMP3 and MPC cars on the list. Although there are 2 classes the times don't follow that scheme. Driver talent, and team experience with the cars is a huge part of this I would think.

I am aware of that site - I even have it bookmarked. The PC results were not showing at the time I posted my comment(probably because the IMSA website as a whole is pretty crappy).

I find the fact that the DP02s are actually mixed up with the P3s to be decidedly unimpressive.
