Pikes Peak

Are Per Eklund and the RS200 team going to compete at Pikes Peak again this year.

Are any of these cars going to be at the Goodwood Festival of speed?

I think Per Eklund depends all on sponsorship and if it clashes with European championship. Mike should no more, from the Per EKlund fan page.

I spoke last week with Per. His Pikes Peak participation is depending on sponsors. But he managed to get the sponsors for this year's rallycross, so......
I'll keep you up with the news!

Regards, Mike

Hi,

spoke Eklund yesterday at the phone, he will not race at pikes peak this year. Because he finished second in the first race of the Swedish Championship, the oppertunity to win the SC is still open and therefore he will try to get a nice result next weekend (june 28) at Kalix.
The week after that there is the EC at Holjes, also in Sweden, an other home race. So no Pikes Peak this year.

regards,
Mike

Pikes Peak record holder Rod Millen, had his 1990 Toyota Celica at last years FoS, and the 2003 pre-event PR has him as returning with the turbocharged 900bhp Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck which uses in New Zealand.

Does anyone know how many people have died on Pikes? I cannot find any figures on the net.

Hi!

I saw some television from Goodwood-festival of speed- yesterday on Motors (satelite-channel).
Also Rod Millen with his Pikes peak car, very impressive!!!
see: http://66.223.44.141/live/fos_live_release_3.asp?ID=517

Perhaps I ask Per Eklund for his apperance next year!

There's a chance I might be heading accross to Pikes Peak next year for pictures-understand its an amazing event though mustn't go to far up the hill as I'll probably get to tired to carry my cameradue to lack of oxygen!

Baz, I really must get there next year too - been here three years now and still haven't done it Give me a yell if you do make it. The trick is to arrive a few days beforehand so that you have a bit of a chance to acclimatize.
