British GT 2004 Race Format

After careful deliberation and consultation with her indoors I'm now firmly of the opinion that a race on Saturday and a race on Sunday is not good...I have enough trouble getting let off the leash on a Sunday without having to bribe and cajole my way into a weekend pass...the additional flowers, perfume, lingerie, jewellry and dining out costs alone are going to cripple me

Seriously,it basically means that anybody that wants to follow the season is going to have to book weekends away, something I'm willing to do cos I'm stupid but not what the "casual" fan is likely to. In a time where we are supposed to be worried about the lack of spectators I cant see this being a forward step at all...unless it's perceived that two totally different sets of punters will be flooding through the gates and the Saturday and Sunday???

And why oh why does there appear to be no Rockingham??? Dumb, dumb, dumb

No Rockingham, kinda odd, i heard it was in financial problems, but then who isn't.

I'd only go to Snetterton, but two days is a bit much, especially as i work Saturdays, gonna have to try and get that day off.

(1) Flower's - I thought they come from the neighbour's garden !!!
(2) Perfume - Use your Imagination mate ......
(3) Jewellry - You should find lots of that in your christmass crackers !
(4) Dining out - Since when did McDonald's break the bank ?

There ya go , lots of money left to go motorracing Paul although you might have to get used to deaf & dumb dinners though

It's less than ideal for those of us who have to work Saturdays as well.....

Exactly..that's half my problem my wife works every Saturday from 4pm onwards
I think my photography plans for 2004 are going to have to take a serious change in direction

I cannot see how 2 short races over two days is any fun at all. What everyone enjoyed last year was the change in race length - why oh why change something that worked?

I would have gone both days anyway so there's no extra expense in staying away but what about the entry prices?

If the Saturday is cheaper then families could go that day instead of the Sunday (but it would be instead of, not as well as). If they put the prices up on Saturday then the fan with cash will think twice. They may have paid to go both days like me but increasing the entry will curtail one day.

All I can see is the circuits will lose out.

The only possible silver lining to this cloud is that perhaps the Powers That Be are planning on decent live TV coverage.
