This is purely from memory, but I think the Milmor(s) were built by Howard Milborrow. There was an article about their design and construction in the late-sixties 750MC publication "Design For Competition"

He and Arthur Mallock were great friends and rivals, both members of the 750MC.

I saw Brian competing at Wiscombe once.

I'm very interested in pictures and, if available, main dimensions (wheelbase, lenght, height, width, for eventual modelling purposes)

in the meantime I've found another pics, from a different sale advert (Autosport-nov89), is @ http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/6864/millmor2cb7.jpg

Very belated response; we all seemed to overlook it, Ian, but, yes, please. It has potential for the Chassis archive.

I believe the yellow Milmor Mk7 shown was actually built by Harding Engineering in Waltham St Lawrence in 1967/68. This was either the second or third version built. It was built as a weekend project so took longer than ideal to complete. Other than engine, gearbox and body mouldings it was completely built in house to plans supplied by Howard Milborrow though frequent reference was made to the Bryan Small version as it resided only a couple of miles away. It was raced only a few times before being disposed of, possibly to Alan Baillie.

MILMOR MK5

I have just seen enquiry re the ex - Bryan Small Mk5. I raced the car in F1200 from 1969-1971. It had been acquired a few years earlier (1964?) from Bryan by Harding Engineering and raced by Robin Wescott I believe. It was converted from a side-valve to 105E based engine and raced for several years before suffering a fairly severe accident. I then acquired the bent chassis in 1967/68 before completing a rebuild and using a low cost 105E engine built up by my mate/mechanic Mike Tarry. Though we had constant trouble with blowing head gaskets, we had much fun and good memories. Even managed to win a race at Silverstone.

It was eventually replaced by a Brabham BT15 for F4 in 1972.

I hope this helps fill in a few gaps in the car's history. I hope it gives you as much fun as it did us.

Sadly Bryan passed away recently, and we have a great number of photos and racing history to go through, so hopefully I should be able to give you more info about the mk5 afterwards.

For 28 years I believed the car above was a Lenham, however after checking the HSCC programme again I was surprised to find it is actually a Milmor Mk VII driven by Richard Brightman, can anyone tell me anything else about Milmor in general and or this car in particular ?
