Vanishing Point should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Word on the street is the plug is about to be pulled on the NZV8's... Anybody else heard any details?

care to elaborate on your source?

was it from someone involved with the series? or did you read it on facebook or another forum?

Nothing confirmed to the best of my knowledge, but it must be a concern for those involved. In March, MSNZ stated "Following its official launch in Taupo on Friday night firm orders have been placed for nine of the new NZV8 Touring Cars."

I believe less than a handful of cars are "really" being built for the upcoming series and some who placed "firm orders" with refundable deposits have had them refunded already.

As Roger has highlighted several times, how can they have a Gold Star Championship with a handful of cars?

Well I have to say I'd be sorry if that were the case, and would hope that a compromise could be reached between STs and MNZ etc.

I hear you could place an order with a $500 deposit. Seems to be only 2 cars either partly finished and one nearly finished (Tulloch). With just over 120 Days until the first round ditching it now sounds like a great idea before it gets even more embarrasing.

I understand MPL's financial situation is not good, that combined with a lack of new car builds and most of the V8's now running in Challenge Cup a review of the Summer Series will be undertaken by MPL.

well they'll hardly be racing at a NZV8 meeting during the NZV8 off season some teams with older cars don't seem to have an issue running in both series. Manuell raced a NZV8 at the 1st NZV8 round.. even though he owns a st. Anderson and McCarrison raced in the both.. haven't heard of either driver being anit-NZV8?

If the New Generation NZV8s are going to be dropped I wonder what is going to happen to the $57,500 of member club's money that MSNZ Executive spent on the New Generation NZV8 jigs and intellectual property.
If the money turns out to be lost I wonder how many MSNZ Executives will fall on their swords?

Promax, are you denying MPL owe money to several large creditors?.. Are you denying only a handful of New Gen Cars have been ordered? Face facts... It will all be over very soon..

Fact ... only a handful of cars are being built. Fact... money is owed to tv3 plus others... Writing is on the wall. My call is shut it down, get rid of the old guard, sanction V8 Supertourers as the Tier 1 V8 Catagory and let's rebuild and have a fresh start.

we all heard the same story last year too. tier 1 rounds were meant to be cancelled.. yet that didn't happen fact!

you claim the series was about to end.. i asked for the source of your info.. you didn't answer the question. fact!

it's hardly a big secret a large number of new cars weren't sold. or that motorsport promotions have done a **** poor job (there's thousands of negative posts about them on this site) you made a claim.. so why don't you back it up let's hear it!

Settle Promax.. Think of your blood pressure... Last year at Ruapuna there were only 9 V8's on the grid... I paid good money to go and watch and it was a waste of time. It should have been cancelled. last years Summer Series was sad and a farce.

so after all the costs created by previous encounters with Petchy antics , everyone should roll over and admit that dishonesty is the way of the future for Motor Sport in NZ. you could be onto something.......... it works for some clubs, but am unsure if they would vote in favour of the new regime.

It's been the way of the past, so why change now. There are more crooks involved in motorsport than there are in the lock-up! I've been tucked by one of the best... eh David!
