The Kelly Crate was a car run pre COTF that the was the 4th Kelly car, it was usually older and lower tech and run for a pay driver. Was good enough to circulate but was rarely at the pointy end as the other 3 cars were.

Simona is running an older car, of unknown Tech, but while she is not a pay driver, she does have the gig because of the finances that come with her being female and thus is technically the same as a pay driver

Mceci

Again you have missed the point.

He's not talking about the head of Nissan. He's talking about the bloke who did the commercial deal for Supergirls/Renee/Simona

The Kelly Krate has been much discussed. The theory goes that the Kelly's have always struggled to field 4 competitive cars...the 4th car has always been lacking.

Keep up.

Ok, that explains it, sort of like PRA's 4th car, less attention on it compared to the other 3

Ok, shame that happens, but when you have two or possibly 3 cars battling for top 5s/10s and wins it makes logical sense to put more effort into those cars

Thanks to Peckstar, who explained the Kelly Crate I know now how Kelly works, in a similar way to PRA. As for the manager of Gracie and Simona, from my point of view the sentence was hard to understand. https://prnt.sc/gjs2ja

Wouldn't say the 4th car at PRA gets any less attention than the other 3 but obviously if any new development parts come along that may be in short supply they naturally go on the cars most in contention from a Championship standing point of view.

Suggestions that Renee Gracie may've split with her management group?

Story Here

Wasn't the primary difficulty of this squad the sourcing of commercial partners?
It will be interesting to see how a brand switch might fix that

Will Mr Dumbrell still get commercial assistance from former HMS staffers going forward?

Couldn't hurt, and the bashing on LDM lately is going high, so why not change to Ford, but it does show one thing, LDM aren't as financially disadvantaged as we think, unless a Ford team is helping at a drastically reduced price or the new co owner is doing a lot

Larko did a segment on RPM about liveries & sponsorship Here talking about needing $3.5m a season to run a single car.

Judging by a dearth of corporate support here, there is a LOT of work to do to get to those kinds of numbers....

Interesting to read this as Lucas' brother co-owns the factory Holden team which provides LDM's cars and parts.

LDM don't buy much from Triple Eight.

Different engines, different shocks, cars are still in 2013 spec for the most part.

More Here

With quotes attributed to the team owner as well...

Seems an expensive proposition to switch to a Falcon V8 if it is set to be replaced in 2019 by a Mondeo body shape.

There was another mob looking to change to FPR Falcons some time ago... they didn't pursue their interest...

Fusion is the logical choice for a Ford team, similar shape to the FGX makes aero easier to deal with, compared to a Mustang, which is a complete restart. A four door looks better too in my opinion, I only like the old 2 door falcons, cant be done and look as good as the old ones on a new car
