I don't know how you lot think about todays racing, but i think it was damn great!!!
Valentino Rossi did it his first 500cc victory the first of many to come! Biaggi eat your hart out. Roberts did a good job too today,i didn't expect him riding this well after his crash in Assen. But he should watch out because Rossi is coming!!! And i must say that McWilliams was flying too, altough it is his home GP,I believe he was really good, maybe we will see McWilliams on a four cilinder bike next year. This is a great season,it's a pitty that Doohan retired but it makes racing much intrestinger to watch! Rossi for World Champion!!! |

Lol Steve, what took you so long? I thought you'd have posted this thread two seconds after he crossed the line...
What a great race to watch - never a moment to be bored, and what a well deserved win. Truly brilliant riding from everyone, but especially from Rossi. |

Is it too early to predict Rossi for 2000 World Champion?
Never Rossi to win the 500cc WC in 2000 |

It was just a matter of time, wasn't it? And with a teacher like that... Record books, here comes Valentino! He's already entered one this weekend - he's the only rider to have won the British GP in all three classes.
But, let's think about Rossi and Aprilia for a while. I mean, Aprilia are getting better and better all the time. Maybe they've finally decided to mount a serious challenge in the "royal class", having dominated the lower classes for a considerable amount of time. Now, Valentino is Aprilia's child, and with that in mind, I wonder if they would try and "lure" him back (once they've launched a V4, of course). Or will Mick have other ideas, taking into account his close relationship with Honda? |

it was one of those races where I didnt know what to do ..I was wanting rossi to win and also for mcWillams..so therefore i was expecting roberts to get up..anyway it was great to see Rossi win but was a bit dissapointed in his post race antics..not the usual valentino ..I guess hes building up for the championship ..then he will go off.
devlin your comments about Aprillia are interesting and if the bike is good then he must think hard about going there as he is loved by aprillia..hmmm Rossi partnered by Corser on an Aprillia V4 ???..that would be something to see wouldnt it ? |

Hmmmm..... Rossi and Corser in one team that would be an unbeatable one!
But in which championship will they ride Superbikes or GP's? |

If it can be organised...how about both? SBK on week, 500 GP the next.
I can only forsee one problem...who to predict for both WCs |
