The Snetterton Magnet

Well after today, I think it is safe to assume who is carrying the magnet this year!!!! Terry you have been marked! (was wondering if you were building your own Fiesta at one point)

Dunno if any of the guys and girls who were on Senna straight with me today are on this forum, but in case you are thanks for your help and hope you enjoyed yourselves and will be back

Andy

I think that we should have made Riches into Parc Ferme for the Fiestas - it would have reduced the amount of recovery required!

And four red flags from six races is a good percentage by anyones standards, so well done to everyone for their efforts today.

If next weekend is as busy then the four days of racing might be finished in time for the 2CV 24-hour race at the end of the month.

Thanks Andy, perhaps I shouldn't have said "Send them up to me" when we spoke after breakfast!

Yes, it did seem that a lot of driver's seem to have forgotten which way to go to get round Riches over the winter especially when two or more were in close proximity to each other.

May I just express our crew's appreciation of the Rescue Unit crew, doctor and everyone involved in the 2nd Fiesta stoppage for all their assistance and I apologise to all in Race Control and around the circuit for the four stoppages during the afternoon- must just be that magnetic attraction that we have.

I think I'll be banished to the Revett Straight for the rest of the season!

Quick word of thanks to all the Jaffas and everyone else who endured the cold and rain yesterday-Wasn't it flippin miserable ??

The conditions were bloomin awful for our race and I really could hardly see a thing - I just caught the red lights out of the corner of my eye at the start/finish - All other flags were vague wafting objects !!

Still - Good fun though wasn't it ?? Don't thing I spent more than 10% of the race looking out the windscreen.

Once again - Thanks to all involved - A good day under trying circumstances.

Not marshaling Snetterton for a long time (Cadwell being closest) I was unaware that there were four days racing this weekend. I am camping over for the 750mc meet fri/sat is there need of another flagie for sun/mon. If so could I collect passes at sign on fri/sat .

After the 750MC on Fri/Sat then you have the Classic Sports Car Club on Sun/Mon. If you contact Peter Rodwell from the BRSCC East Anglian Centre I'm sure he will gladly add you to the list.

Hi Goforit500,

You must win the prize as being one of the few drivers that I didn't get the opportunity to have a chat with at the Riches Car Park on Sunday!

Glad you enjoyed your day, certainly looked as if you were enjoying yourself from where we were standing. Hope to see you another weekend at Snet - In the paddock that is!!

Terry, you could do your own version of the Lynx "clicker" advert, with how many drivers you get to meet this season!!!

Goforit500 - being on the outside of the start line it was quite spectacular seeing that much horsepower on the grid, being put down in such conditions, i think you all did well getting away at the start without incident let alone getting past Terry (which would appear a challenge to a lot of drivers!!)

Andy,

Are you sure you want to be anywhere near me this coming weekend for the 750MC ?- 4 races over the two days for Stock Hatches (71 Entries!!!) - there I was looking forward to a nice quiet and relaxful weekend in the Norfolk countryside!

It seems as though the Riches is not the only place the magnet has been at work. I didn't put a fire out all last season on the fire truck, and never had call to use the large foam tank. I understand that there have been 3 fires in the first 2 meetings, 2 of which needed the use of "Big Burtha". However, looking at the weather I was probably in the best place, helping in Tyrells.
I hope to be marshalling all 4 days over Easter. Don't know what job Peter has in mind for me yet.
See you at Snet. STAN
