Montoya to Stop Racing in the Busch Series
Next week when Montoya races at Watkins Glen in the Busch Series, that will be his last race in that series. The entire 42 Busch Series team will be shut down. The reason that it will be shut down according to owner Chip Ganassi is because they only started the team was to help Montoya adjust to NASCAR, and now they feel like he has enough experience.

Dont ya just love the spin the media put on the title
"Ganassi to shut down Montoya's Busch team after Watkins Glen" Makes it sound like the team is going bust, but hey that's the media for you. |

I tell ya what wouldn't it great if Montoya won all the road NASCAR (cup and busch) events? He won them so far so... Hasn't ever been done before has it?

Yes, he did. He won at Chicagoland in it I think, ironically the weekend Montoya announced his move to NASCAR?
I'm sad that Montoya won't be doing the Busch races too, not only do I get to see him race more but I guess he gains experience of the tracks better. But if this boosts the Cup effort it can only be a good thing. |

How does running in the Busch series really affect him in the Cup Series anyway???? Just gives him more experience on every track??

I want him to win on ovals...
It would be a great deal more significant than achieving it on the road courses (this has surely got be expected - or right up their contending, at least). |

Well, that will be a while yet. But progress is being slowly made.

Oh, sure, I was not meaning it in a negative way. This was always going to be a long process (especially given the team-chassis combo). It would just be lovely to see it happen.
There is no doubt that Juan is getting sorted out, though: he is showing the speed, but throwing it together until the end of the race is proving the major hurdle I would say. It will take time, but will hopefully happen. NASCAR isn't easy to win in, of that there can be no doubt. |
