Thanks to all on P9 for a great weekend and particularly to Bob and Michael who both did a great job helping out on flags over the weekend.
Hope to see Andy our Taster Day marshal on Sunday back soon. Some good racing over the weekend, good company and good weather.... more please. See folks soon Dave |

Thanks were passed on from the Radical drivers to the startline and Post 25 yellow flaggers for their swift and clear yellow flagging, for stalled and slow moving cars at the starts of several races (Radicals and Monopostos), which enabled everyone to get away without contact.
The stalled Radical pole-man showed how important it is to correctly position the cars on the grid, as one car passed between him and the pitwall with just inches to spare. Congratuations to the other drivers for making room for each other by moving over or lifting off. |

I thought the meeting a bit dull sadly.
Just not enough GT cup cars for a start. F3s are F3s, start position = finish postition. Monopostos with a very wide spread of ability/performance. Plus points : new Radical SR1 and the good old FF1600 races. Then there was there was the issue of 4wo penalty(s) being overturned (I only heard this on the PA, I am unable to call 4wo from my viewpoint) Afterwards I heard that the team/driver used in-car video evidence which surely cannot show the relative positions of tyre and white line? Time for impartial OBSERVERS to get similar technological assistance? Anyway, that weekend is over - only have to wait till Saturday for the EURONASCARS, which I hope will be a brilliant meeting. |

Is there many Blancpain teams that enter in GT cup?
The grids really seem to be dwindling this year. |

I don't think there are any GT Cup teams over the last couple of years that are now in the Blancpain Series. The grids have dwindled, although they are a bit higher than last year's. I don't think racing on the Brands Indy circuit helped as it is not ideal for large GT cars.

As a visiting overseas Sector / Intervention Marshal who was competing in car 91 in the Radical SR1 Cup at Brands Hatch on the 1st June, I would like to give a big thank you to all the Marshals who officiated at Brands last weekend. A job well done and very much appreciated, both by me and all my fellow competitors.
A special thanks to all the team (including a fellow Scot) at Paddock Hill Bend (Post 4 A?) who extricated my car from the gravel after ambition overtook my ability on the very last lap going up the inside of another car into Paddock.... resulting in the scenery suddenly revolving! A great intervention and recovery guys! Roll on Oulton Park and the next round on the 6th July! By the way can anybody confirm to me if there is a Marshals Post between Paddock and Druids? Is it on drivers right? Once again, well done one and all. Good to know you are there. Gordon |

Alas Alasdair I did not take the flag! But had fun all weekend anyway.
Couldn't believe how much gravel I collected in the car! Anyway thanks again for the assistance, if you are ever over this way do let me know, there are always plenty of track days at Dubai and Abu Dhabi if a Radical ride appeals. Stay safe! |
