So, what was....

Your favourite National race series and why?...and your least favourite was...
A hard choice but....

(1) Penthouse Escort championship...The Mk1's were very good and the later Mk2's were just as good, some superb racing and some stonking shunts as well!
(2) The Renault 5TS's (during their first few years)were much the same-always count on a few big rolls down Paddock!

(3) The Metro, Rover 216 & Rover Tomact's were all excellent, great drivers and even better panel bashing!!

(1) Least favourite was probably those naff Formula Talbot single seaters in which Mark Thatcher raced in!

eweeek - I thought I was the only person who remembers Formula Talbot. Horrendous show, and lost out badly to paint drying in the excitement stakes.

The original Can-Am series and the Trans-Am series get my votes. The drawing cards would be the technical diversity of the Can-Am and the consistently good and close racing of the Trans-Am. My low point would probably be the current Infinity Pro Series, the stepping stone for the IRL.

Uhm... Do they still count as national if they include a couple Canadian rounds?

If so, I vote for the CART PPG Indycar series before it got dragged to Brazil, Australia, Japan and Europe.
