What differences are there between the US broadcast and the international one? Other than I gather you don't get the graphic that says how many push to passes are remaining flashing across the screen at the same time as the commentators say how nobody knows how many push to passes remain?

If Coyne drops a car next year then can they make sure it's the right one? I hate seeing cars disappear, but the Dracone/Gonzales/Mann car I only notice when it crashes into something.
The stream I got, which was NBCSN's broadcast via BTsport had the push to pass graphic.

In a third car, that is. With the Indy Lights crew, since they aren't racing at Sonoma.

Ouch!

No clue what they are arguing about, but Andretti vs Andretti sounds ... very painful to say the least.

In the article it says: "John Lopes, who was removed from his position of president of ASM last month, has combined with fellow ASM co-owner Starke Taylor in filing a suit in the Marion County Supreme Court against Andretti Autosport Holding Company.

In addition to the claims about the IndyCar team's financial situation, which state that the team is $7million in debt with just $2million in assets, the suit also claims that Andretti mismanaged ASM."

I'm no legal expert but it seems to me, the mismanagement of ASM by Michael Andretti is at the heart of matter.

If Lopes was removed as president, how can he be filing a suit as representing that company?

Weird, all this ...

I see what you mean but though Lopes was removed as president, he must still be a co-owner along with Starke Taylor.

The lawsuit filed by Andretti Sports Marketing against Andretti Autosport has been settled but it has ramifications for future race promotion as there's serious doubt NOLA will return. Next season's FE GP at Miami has been dropped and Milwaukee still remains under threat for next year.

Also the Formula E team announced today it would use last years power unit instead of using one of their own design. Maybe the crash crunch is for real at Andretti.

It's the most watched race on cable since Richmond 2008 on ESPN (947,000).

That American viewership statistics bureau needs to start lookin at the total global viewership. People all over the world watches more and more Indycar and it's easily shown in the amount of International drivers.

According to this, http://www.indycar.com/News/2015/09/...broadcast-high

IndyCar Series races averaged 1.144 million viewers – an increase of 16 percent over 2014. That follows a 19 percent viewership surge in 2014 over the previous year and viewership of NBCSN telecasts averaged 507,000 in 2015, an increase of 34 percent, following a 34 percent rise in 2014. Total viewership on both media partners in 2015 increased from the year before, even with two fewer events.

I'd like to know what actual race attendance figures are.

While race attendance is important from a promoter point of view - the rise in tv figures is more of a priority for Indycar than crowds

I disagree. If the promoter doesn't get enough people into the venue, they lose money and that will impact on whether the promoter will want to return to that venue or will want to host that event again. Without race tracks there's no racing.
