Thanks for the welcome. I just stumbled into this forum whilst surfing!! amazing what's out there!!!
I look forward to being able to pass on any of my experience gained over the last 14 yrs or so and helping anyone to do with marshalling in any way I can. |

Come and join us at Brands Hatch one day Stu, you will be made very welcome. Failing that, many of us here 'do' the GP in July!

I would love to come to Brands, it's just such a distance from here. I too used to "do" the GP, working the weigh area but it's got too political and security concious. You can't get anywhere near the cars or drivers so Jo (my wife) and I like to go Stateside for our vacations and work either Nascar or Champ cars. Talk about access all areas!!!!

With the first meetings of the year fast approaching now is the time for those that have shown an interest to come along and have a go.
All you need for the first couple of mettings is some decent warm clothing, most preferable in natural fibres which will not melt if you should get close to something warm, a waterproof coat and leggings, some good stout (waterproof) boots, a pair of welding gauntlets or heavy gloves, and plenty of food and hot drinks. Any experienced marshals on this forum would be able to give some guidance to anyone going to their first meeting. If anyone is interested in the MGCC meeting at Silverstone on the 16th then I can meet you at the gate to give you a guide. sign on is 7.30 - 8.15. (Send a PM) Alternatively contact pam.dearn@brdc.co.uk (01327 320297) |
