Could it be hinting to increased backing from Toyota?

the mounting of the wing to the bootlid is exactly the same. teams can always adjust the tilt angle of the wing within a set range to adjust it to suit different tracks. thats why suttons mg at silverstone last year got excluded, because the rear wing was angled outside of that range.

ok perhaps i should have been more precise. we were talking about the mounting position on the bootlid. my point is that where the wing is mounted on the bootlid cant change from where it has been regulated and located as toca set it in the wind tunnel.

The exocet cars show how an evolution in body can result in different wing mounts.

omg. yes but the POSITION is still the same. which is what i said earlier. they cant move the position of where the rear wing is mounted to the bootlid.

Agreed, just that the initial point was that the 2017 Toyota rear wing looks like it is mounted differently. Same place, but different mounting.

I was thinking that too with the camo livery - more manufacturer support for the series?

It's not impossible, although I doubt anything more than cheaper parts perhaps. Didn't Toyota give some support to the Toyota teams in the early NGTC years? A few of the cars had Toyota windscreen banners IIRC.

Going back to my comment about the facelifted rear as well as the front - another pic of the rear below from Facebook. Looks like it is a complete facelift as someone else mentioned. Good to see!

Yes they did, for teams running the Toyota engine, things were getting interesting. But the Toyota engine development seemed to fade away with the demise of an orange car and so did the Toyota banners.

I'm not particuarly keen on the big thick rear wing mounts seen on some of the cars (the Passat for instance). I much prefer the thinner, more elegant mounts as seen on the PMR Cruze's.

Has anyone else noticed that all the e-spares branding appears to have vanished from recent pictures of the Motorbase Focus? (in Spain)

Never mind, it's still there on at least one car - although at least one does not with larger duo sponsorship on the front so maybe only Depper will run with e-spares branding.

I'm glad to see them getting a new car, the old one was getting long in the tooth and now in their 7th season, Speedworks are now a consistent front runner. A far cry from Tony Hughes' struggles in 2011

I thought their car was a new one anyway, new for 2015. Or have I missed something?!

You're quite right. It was a brand new car.

I hope he meant that it was the style that had been going for 7 seasons

5 seasons. The original Mk3 Avensis ran in 2011 and was mildly facelifted for 2012 with a new grille and front and rear lights.
