Back from the world's greatest race!
Chapeau to the Risi team! That was an magnificant race by the guys from houston. They had a trouble free race and the result was a clear victory. Congrats to all Ferrari-Fans around here! I was so dissapointed as i saw the scene with both PORSCHE in the gravel! That was hard to believe. Almost the whole Competition in GT2 has put out itself before the race realy started. But the main reason that keep's me optimistic for the rest of this season is, that the '08 RSR has closed the gap to the Ferrari's- NO, it's now faster! The Porsche's has all the bad luck in Le Mans. Now it's on to winning the ALMS! Keep them Ferrari's coming Lizard! Now it's getting hot! |

And as i promised before the race: The laptimes will drop under the four minutes-wall. The speed that the porsche '08 Porsche has, is fantastic!
No matter which track we have: Street course in Palm Beach, normal street course in Utah or high speed course in Le Mans; the new Porsche has it's potential to beat the 430's!!! |

A 1,2 second gap per lap translates in an advantage of about 66m/lap at an average speed of 200km/h A 2.2 second gap translates into 122m/lap at the same average speed. this means that in theory, after about 109 laps (+/-1/3 of the race), the Porsche would have a 1 lap advantage. (assuming all other factors remain equal) You say its insignificant, I say not. Statistics are like bikini's; what they show is suggestive, but they hide it vital. |

Well for what its worth, I think it would have been very tough for Porsche to win the race, the Ferrari teams were strong. BMS put in very strong times in the rain, I was shocked. But they didn't like there dry tire grip very much. When it got cooler they put on the sofies and away they went..
Great for 3 tire companies to be on the podium as CMK said. Forza Ferrari, I wanna go to the end of the year meeting they have now...lol |

Unfortunately it is obviously not as linear as laid out in my post.
There is no doubt the the top Ferrari teams were better. (much better driver line up). We were just trying to make the point that the Porsche 997 EVO is faster than the F430 (especially at Le Mans) , and if the Porsche teams had had a better driver line up, more cars, and didn't take each other out, then it would have probably resulted in a Porsche victory. |

Am I right in saying that there are two others below it, both unlit? So 1 light =1st in class, 2 lights 2nd, and 3=3rd?

At the time of the lead Porsches coming together, were the Ferraris catching them at all?
