Eastern Creek round

Eastern creek tickets are now on sale and a press conference has been held to mark the start of promotion (see www.a1gp.com)

I don't see why this season's round at Eastern creek will be any more successful than last years, considering that there is little or no TV coverage of A1GP in Australia. Perhaps there will be a few Greek team supporters to add to the Lebanese visible last year, although the Australian Greek population is mainly in Melbourne?

Hopefully the following quote will mean that a street race might still happen eventually, surely taking the race to the people would be better than Eastern Creek: "The NSW Government has confirmed its commitment to A1GP with plans to monitor the race in 2007 with a view to grow the event in the coming years."

I also liked Alan Jones' barb at V8's...

"Melbourne has the MotoGP and the Australian Grand Prix, Queensland has Indy Cars and Adelaide runs taxis (V8s), but Sydney is the home of the A1 Grand Prix,"

Bloody excellent, looking forward to it already! $79 for a Fri-Sat-Sun General Admission ticket to an international event such as this is sensational value.

Book grandstand tickets through Ticketek not A1GP.com .The A1 site doesn't let you pick where in the grandstand you want to sit.Reserved seats are $124 compared to last years $150.A bit of a contrast to Taupo!

Live on Foxtel. What was wrong with last years Eastern Creek round ?

With a Ryan Briscoe in the seat I am thinking there will be plenty for Australia to get excited about.

I believe the support races will be the same as last years excellent show. Therefore F3, historic seventies and eighties open wheelers (Ralt RT4 and Chevrons etc.) and GTs with F3 and GT being Round 1 of threir respective Series.

I am over 16 . Don't have my license yet, but I should have it before the EC round.

Assuming CAMs don't slack off...
