Good on you Russel
I'd like to congratulate Russel Ingall not only for his excellent performance this weekend but also for apologizing to Murphy on the podium for that late race clash.
I haven't seen such a sportsman like act for a loooong time. |

I think the massive boo's from the crowd might have helped with him handing out an appology. He certainly didn't look very happy up there. He even got a cuddle of Skaifey!
Maybe he will shut his mouth a little more than he has over the past few weeks to stop the big serves of humble pie dribbling out! He did drive well most of the race and deserved to do well, although had it have been earlier in the race when he came together with Murph a drive through would have to have been on the cards. So keep an ear out for a belated penalty I think. |

He has probablt two outcomes heading his way-
He keeps his 3rd place and gets no points or he gets a retrospective drive-thru penalty added to his race time and gets his points adjusted downwards. As an Ingall supporter I admit he should not keep that result as he punted Murphy off point-blank. |

I think a time penalty and then he gets the position and points for where that puts him would be fair.
It won't happen as it isn't a rule, but justice would be he and Murph swap points. |

I could not agree more, Ingall did not look at all impressed and not only did he point out he was wrong, but he also apologised, (notice he didnt even open his champagne bottle) It is good to see that he knows how to admit hes in the wrong and to apologise about it, unlike a few other drivers out there (hey skaifey).
he did drive well, and although im an ingall suporter he should not keep his 3rd position, but nonetheless a very good performance from him. |

Er, what did Slaife do today that was outside the rules and warranted an apology on national TV Stido?

He is Mark Skaife, so he is always wrong, even if he didn't do anything, he's just wrong ok

I agree with you Dazz. Yes folks even I the Toolman is SICK of the Skaife Bashing.
As far as I can remember Skaife didnt do anything today he shouldn't have. Hes only guilty of putting his helmet and gloves etc, getting in HRT 1 and Driving like a true Champion all day. What is wrong with that????? |

Was wondering what was going to happen to Ingall of the incident with Murphy. Would have been nice for it to have been given to him before he went up onto the podium and recieved a trophy. Not nice to lose it after being given it. So if Ingall has dropped from 3rd to 12th who gets 3rd now was it Weel. Feel sorry for Weel because he doesn't get the feel of being up on the winning podium.

Well he had to get some sort of penalty, that one seems fair enough. It was good seeing him eat humble pie on the podium today, now he might not be as aggressive in his choice of words (saying that he won't hold back and just barg his way through). If he didn't say things like that knowone would get upset with him, I know I wouldn't. Great job Skaifey.

Poor old Murph always seems to get the rough end of the pineapple lately... I think Bingall swapping points and places with Murph would be most appropriate...

It's good to see some punishment handed out to Ingall for that incident as there was no need for contact to be made with Murphy's car.

How long was the penalty that Russ was given- I thought it would be about 30sec (or so they kept telling us all weekend long), but that should (?) have still kept him in the top 10.
Was it just my TV, or was Skaife given a right royal raspberry on the Saturday podium? |

If the patrons booed Russ for his indescretion, what did they boo Mr.Control Freak for? Or do they just hate him with a passion?

Yup, he's hated with a passion unfortuately.
I think there are a lot of people out there who may have been snowed by the Blueprint hype that HRT is finished and they cannot win anymore. Many are sick and tired of Skaife winning but we should remember that Skaife was struggling in the early laps of race 1 and didn't win by a country mile on Sunday. He was driving accurately but defensively and locking brakes and defending hard because of the tightness in the points. It was one of the tightest races for a while. Skaife would want the races to be tight as the satisfaction is greater even if you place but do not win. The points system this year will keep the races like this as people settle for what they can get but defend the position they have ferociously. |

Good to see that Ingall got what he deserved. Dazz did you see v8 superstars on the friday night before the telecast of the clipsal race? Skaife admitting that it was driver error at the g.p. that caused him beaching the car..... perhaps he doesnt need to make as many appoligies as other drivers because he doesnt punt them off on the last lap!
He drives like the true champion that he is |

Hey I don't have a problem with Skaife at all, I personally think he is at the top for a damn good reason, and that's because he is amongst the best of the drivers out there, one of the best at setting up a car, and probably the most focused driver on the track. He rarely makes mistakes, looks after the equipment and drives with his head 97.743% (estimated) of the time. He is also backed by a damn good team of people, and works hard with them to get the best from the car in every aspect. |

All very true. Arguably, he is the best at setup followed extremely closely by John Bowe and the performance of the (hybrid) VY at Adelaide compared with all other VYs shows this.

All very good of Russell to apologise, but he keeps doing it!
I don't think Jason Bright, would be over-complementary of his driving after he stuffed up a move at the hairpin, resulting in Bright going rapidly backwards through the field. |
