formula1fan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Los Angeles Street Circuit

Seeing as I'm on a different computer to the one I normally use, I can't really put this track into my series, as it isn't 'in order' with the others, so here we go. Located in Los Angeles, California. http://www.gmap-pedometer/?r=711140
Comments, edits, and suggestions are welcome.

There already is a great street circuit in LA. It's called Long Beach.

That's weird, it should work, as I entered the right number when I saved the track, so I don't know what's gone on there.

Thanks for that. Please note that the track does NOT go on the Interstate, it goes underneath it.

5.5 miles / 8.9 kilometres is quite long, I think.

Here's what I would do (3.9 miles/ 6.3 kilometres long): http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=713031

It's difficult to find some flowing turns. And if you've found some, they are too dangerous to be part of a street circuit .

I was looking so hard to find what was wrong! That was so obvious i missed it!

Is pretty long, too. Still, nothing wrong with a bit of length.

I should have checked the hyperlink, as I was sure I put the .com bit in! Join the club, Rockmunky. I missed the mistake too! And on my thread!

How hard is it to copy and paste the link? That's how I get it to post here.

I've had to drive that area MANY times, actually. I will say this, being outside of the metropolitan Los Angeles area will give you the advantage of not cutting into major traffic. However, the City of Industry is not renowned for having regularly maintained roadways. 18-wheelers pass through the streets (ESPECIALLY Telegraph Rd. right next to I-5 Fwy), so there's quite a bit of wear & tear done to the streets.

But with the massive Citadel outlet shopping center very close by, I can see really cool things like race-related festivities, music performances, maybe even using a main stage for something really cool like live driver Q&A sessions!

If there was a serious bid for a major series to race there, I can see the county (since I'm assuming City of Industry has it's own city council for that area) going into the possibility of revamping the area for such an event.

So, it's very realistic, and could be done in real life? sweet.

Well, just by the name, you can tell it's a huge commercial area, not really that many locals. That's fine.

If you notice on the map, though, there are a LOT of small, winding backstreets and a TON of railroad tracks (including one massive trainyard). So with a lot of warehouses and railyards taking space, it'd be a challenge to make good grandstand points.

Start_16 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Not quite. It was the LA Coliseum and a regional NASCAR series ran three years.

Exactly. There was one race sometime back in the 1930's or 40's that was close to Union that ran close to the Olvera Street/Chinatown area on Main St., http://theracingline.net/racingcircu...gelesCity.html for reference.

But that was a long ways ago, even before NASCAR. So yes, the only time NASCAR ever raced in the actual city of Los Angeles was from 1998-2000, and even then it wasn't Cup, it was a regional series as you said.
