Franchise Fracas
Ok, let's figure out who has what franchise for next year...
Not Changing- Kmart SBR HRT Orrcon GRM DJR BJR FPR PWR Morris/Kiwi Dodo (?) Changing- Tasman get their second slot back from WPS WPS get the two level one slots from Larry. Larry still has use of the Nash slot? WPS sell/lease their ex-McLean/Thecko slot (to Larry). What will happen with the Paul Little slot? Ellery has his old L2, plus the spare PWR one Jason Bright has the old Imrie license What am I missing here?? |

Yes, Larry definitely has the Nash license for 2005 plus is leasing the WPS level 2.
He still however needs another if he is to field Richo, Dumbrell and Davison. Tratty has not confirmed his plans yet. Only my speculation, no basis of fact, but could LP poassibly use this license for the 3rd car?? |

Larry said he will have 3 (cars prepared by him anyway, maybe 4). I heard that he had the Romano one but MN says that Garth Walden has it, so that is making it a bit tight for franchises.

L1
SBR (2x Ambrose/Ingall) Kmart (2x Tander/Crashbandicoot) PWR (2x Murphy/Weel) LMS (2x Bargwanna/Winterbottom) WPS (2x Baird/Besnard - for the first race anyway ) HRT (2x Skaife/T.Kelly) GRM (2x McConville/TBA) DJR (2x Seton/TBA) BJR (2x Jones/Bowe) Tasman (2x Ja Richards/TBA) FPR (2x TBA/TBA) Dynamik (2x Wills/TBA) 888 (2x Lowndes/Wilson) L2 PMM (1x Morris) TKR (1x Radisich) SER (1x Ellery) SER (1x TBA) RNR (1x A Davison) WPS (1x S Richards) PLR (1x Tratt) IMS (1x TBA) Romano (1x Dumbrell) So where is the sexy stuff? - Mr Ellery is rumoured to have purchased the PWR L2 - Mr Perkins has apparently leased the WPS L2 - Mr Dumbrell has apparently been doing the spadework to run Paul Dumbrell Racing in 2005 - Mr Bright has been connected with leasing the IMS franchise but with the FPR link so patchy, its up in the air No major surprises anywhere.... |

Garth Walden if he has the Romano franchise will upset the plans of one driver.

The Walden story is a dreamtime fantasy. If these guys reckon they can field a BA in 2005 to qualify within 105% at sprint rounds, and 107% at the enduros, and not get in anyone's way they are dreaming.
Its nice to have a fighting spirit, to see a private team mix with the big boys, but in reality, based on the sponsorship we have seen on the cars they have used thus far, the $300k upgrade to a BA (presuming they find one, now that FPR is looking to keep the 2003 CAR car as a spare) is miles away... ... plus the pukka transporter, equipment, spares, rebuilding between meetings, permanent crew.... |

Mind you, Walden has qualified for 4 of the 5 rounds that he has contested in an AU. Who knows how he's going to go at EC.

Depends if he has to contribute to the repair bill of Mr Tebb's AU as crashed at Bathurst as to whether Mr Walden will be seen at Eastern Creek.
A hard hit sadly, maybe close to a junking? |

Bright has secured the IMS franchise and will operate out of Dandenong with the current #6 FPR car.

Are the GTRMagic predictions set in jelly or stone?

Well, we could all be proactive little servants of ten-tenths and put GTRMagic's summary in Re-submit for a month and see how close his listing turns out!

Just why did Perkins sell his L1 franchises? I never did see the reasoning for that.

Wouldn't you sell them at $3M when you got them for $0? Especially if you want to just prepare customer cars.....

With a leased L2 franchise I would guess.
