If you read the Motorsport article you will appreciate that there is a lot of speculation being made, and there has been no official announcements from Red Bull. It might be wise to wait for Brackley to make a statement before anyone gets too excited, because it might all come to nothing. It could also be someone from the Verstappen camp stirring things up a bit - just saying!

Adding fuel is the report of MV getting an RB seat fitting before Spain. Most likely so he can test the RB which is a good thing. But will be interesting if the swap occurs for the races. Just another interteam spat to spice things up now that Merc is bubbling along nicely (go Nico, bag as many points as you can before LH finds his feet - do a Button 09 but without the illegal car!)

This seems a bit of a knee jerk reaction. These drivers are so young. Kvyatt had a reasonable season last year. I wonder if that is it for him in f1, and that he will end up in Formula E next year like pretty much everyone else who has ever driven for Torro Rosso?
If Red Bull see Verstappen as the future, then I guess this makes sense. Cut throat world though. |

This would seem to be the Red Bull way of dealing with matters; they are absolutely ruthless. Recently Dietrich Mateschitz gave an undertaking to all the staff at the TV broadcaster that he owns that their jobs were safe. However, because the staff have been attempting to gain union representation, he has just announced that he is closing the broadcaster next month with all 240 of the staff losing their employment.

it smells of one of two possibilities to me. 1. what did ferrari offer verstappen that made red bull jump immediately? or 2. mateschitz was involved. or both |

I never liked RB and the way they treat their staff. This and the way they treated Kvyat just remebered me why... |

i think the way drivers have to look at red bull from junior level upwards is that they afford you opportunities that you wouldn't have had otherwise/your dad would have had to pay for. if they drop you, they drop you. their expectations of your results are based on what red bull want, not what suits the drivers development or the team circumstances at the time.

you are only as strong as your last result.
imo, the ruthlessness of the RB driver ladder is about the only sporting thing happening in F1 right now. |

Concerning the TV station, he first decided to close it, and the next day decided not to close it after all -- after he got assurances that he got his way (no union representatives etc...)
I certainly wouldn't be happy if my boss used the same methods to enforce his will. Quote:
Still, some made a decent career afterwards and should still be grateful for the chance they were given. Would Hartley have been WEC champions without Red Bull? or Buemi? Would people like Jani, Wickens, da Costa, even Aleshin (Renault FR3.5 and F2) be where they are now without Red Bull? |

Button himself has said what he thought on Twitter about this. Kinda agree with him too, even if it gives the confident Max a chance

I think it's Number 1 all over, no need for a second possibility. Someone saw Jos the Boss talking to Ferrari or Mercedes, and they s**t themselves. |

It seems that there is/was alot of unrest at Toro Rosso, it seems to have started in singapore last year but it just got alot worse in the last four races.
Like Olav Mol puts it, Kvyat didn't have to leave Red Bull Racing, Verstappen had to leave Toro Rosso. |

Things could be completly different at Red Bull Racing, with Verstappen focusing on getting results and not trying to wow the management. Besides the way things were going, it looked more that Sainz was getting frustrated with not being given the same credit as Verstappen. |

I don't often agree with Joe Saward due to trying to run his own agendas instead of just reporting the facts but his observation of Verstappen being moved to RB as a tactic to control the driver's market would seem to be a good point.
Verstappen to Marko: Either I go to RB or I go to another team Marko to Verstappen: How much do you want? |
