Vettels Dash - Lap 44 in car, broken ?
just watched a reply of the Belgium GP having been away when it was on.

Watched the lap 44 in car camera and I couldn't decide if Vettels dash was broke or it was just display shuddering under vibration, but the display seemed to flixker on and off and have some random characters on it.

anyone see it ?

I assume it is an effect of the camera. The dash and the camera have a different or out of sync. refresh rate.

Thats my guess, with HD coverage some lights strobe. On the track when I am behind 997 GT3s, my in car HD video shows their tail lights as strobing when they are not. Its something to do with the 50HZ quality

No, Steve Matchett caught it and remarked about how it didn't look right, and the boys on the RBR pitwall looked awful relieved.

Lots of instrument panels look funny when filmed - all to do with slight differences in frequencies that different things work at

Maybe it was a small but percptible rip in the space time/continuum that produced this effect?

There was definitely something wrong with his dash. It showed 1st gear and it looked like he'd just set high score on a pinball machine... all kinds of lights, different colors. There was no way that was some sort of camera effect.

Years ago, i used to frequent an off licence that had a computer screen on it's till. There was a CCTV camera pointing at the till (dodgy employees obviously ), and the TV screen was on display for everyone to see, the computer screen would be fine, but when viewed through the CCTV on the TV screen that would look like it was broken up and jumpy too.
