ERC24,game over ????
Today i had a look at the ERC24-site,and a see an announcement that Tim Whittington and friends where leaving. One hour later the site is complete gone. I now that they probably will al move over to Rallycross world magazine. Shame for the people who have paid for a subscription. Whats the story behind this?? . |

Right before the opening round?
Yesterday, I was getting a message to renew my subscription, along the top, when I logged in. Maybe just an automated announcement. |

Okay, just notice rallycross world the pdf magazine is now a website , so does this mean there are TWO subscription websites covering the ERC now?

I do find it fairly astonishing that into a new season there is no focal and central point for fans to get information about the ERC.
Rather disgraceful, especialloy when there are some fans that did a better job and could do now! Evene the likes of BSB, WSBK don't do subscription, was onto a loser before it started sadly. |

rallycross.com is the best site out there for info, news, events, timetables, entry lists etc. And it's free.

And on sunday , one of the current erc24-guys was always running in front of our lense , verry ennoying because he had space enough to choose another spot.
And i notice RallycrossWorld is doing a great job , so my money goes to RallycrossWorld, definitely! |

To be honest the marketing of rallycroiss is rather por.
There are big audiences yet nothing in the way of merchandise. Where are the Viking helmets, the Uniion Jacks, the Stecka flags or whatever. Drivers parade (lets put everyone on a bus so noone knows who is who) Eff that, make em drive round on the roof of their cars like the old days! INtervoiews with drivers in the pit, find some famous faces, I saw Lawrence for instance. Iphone apps, a decent proper ERC FIA website with drver profiles, proper information, these things dont cost tens of thousands and are easy ways to get exposure. A facebook page, twitter page! |

Driving around on the roof of the cars, trust me we pushed hard for that on numerous occasions, but various things get in the way

who has the say over things like drivers on roofs of cars or winners doing a few donuts ,it seems good old H/S or is it the biggest killers of all the good old FIA
must not do this or that , did we ever get drivers falling off cars or cars jumping off the track into crowds when doing a few donuts ? and i am sure if they smashed there cars or fell off while doing this they are not going to sue the tracks i always remember schanche wining at lydden many years ago going lock to lock all the way up the hill smoking tyres then to give it a full drift around North bend ,the crowd went mad ,things like that put the icing on the cake |

I do not know exactly what you meant by your comment Eddy. Of course I offer it to everyone to earn a living, but in rallycross I experience that some people no longer about the sport. I am not flattering, but when you were very active in sports, was that from your passion. You had a chat with everyone. Now it seems that a fluorescent vest delivers a super status. And everyone else who brings a camera to the circuit will regard as a threat against professionals. With the TV crew, you do not see that. The first time I brought a camera(a dud in your terms), someone immediately dipped to speak with me . Maybe for some it has become just a job. . |
