BARC run these - you can apply online www.barc.net, but I'm not sure when next years form will be up - not for a while yet!

BARC head office normally send out a full set of volunteering sheets somewhere around Jan/Feb. If you are a BARC marshal you'll get them automatically, otherwise I suggest sending Becci (rharvey@barc.net) an email around early January to get placed on the list.

Alternatively, they have an on-line system at:
http://www.barc.net/marshals/marshal...ply_online.php

Keep checking this site for when the 2009 meets appear, and try to register your details then. I don't know if you can do this now (i.e without ticking any of the current event boxes) but give it a try.

Although I have no evidence to support this, other than personal experience, it is my firm view that BARC members (annual cost £33 with a discount system in place for each [BARC]event you marshal) who also volunteer for some other BARC events get preference when it comes to getting selected for prime events like Gooders, and applying early also makes a difference.

You'll get a written confirmation of what you have volunteered for around March but, as usual, you'll not know if you have actually been selected until three minutes before the event, which is something that really gets me generally.

Best of luck!
