Premier 1 Grand Prix Drivers for 2002?
Damon Hill and Nigel Mansell are the latest rather fanciful names to be linked to the new Premier 1 series which commences next July. The series could be a haven for F3000 drivers who have yet to amke the leap into F1, such as The Invisible Giraffe himself Justin Wilson, or Bas Leinders, David Saelens and Andrea Piccini. Maybe some drivers who've either been in CART or have looked to get into it, but found a lack of seats (Bryan Herta, Tarso Marques, Derek Higgins, Mario Dominguez, the latter does look likely for the Herdez Bettenhausen CART drive though). Alternatively guys like Mark Hynes, Jamie Melo Jr or Norberto Fontana may lok to revive their careers in the series.

Nigell Mansell and Damon Hill were in fact reported to have been approached by Premier F1 series.
Also this morning DailyF1 report this: It is understood former F1 drivers Johnny Herbert and Mark Blundell are two of those 20 that have contacted Webb. http://www.dailyf1.com/en/news/2001/november/14a.shtml |

Hey Sniffer, it'd be interesting if Blundell drives for Chelsea and Arsenal. And I'm not sure non-European teams are likely to be involved, the likes of Corinthians and Kaiser chiefs are unlikely to ahve the finance. Not sure all the drivers will be of the same nationality as the team either. Names like Philipp Peter, Michael Krumm and Tom Coronel are interesting, especially Krumm who was turning into a credible CART racer when Dale Coyne withdrew. Lots of long-forgotten anems from F1, or who enarly made F1, on the list, eg Beretta, Montermini, Kolby and Muller.

Don't knock 'Billy'Blundell he can pull that off, no problem. Sniffer's balls got steamed up a bit I'm afraid so I'll plump for Marc Hynes at Stamford Bridge.

If Mansell and Hill are back, perhaps it could be renamed Formula Has-Been??
