Graham De Looze should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Has anyone got a sports 2000 tub going gash. I dont mind if it needs repairing as its going to be rebuilt into something else.Thought it might be a easier route than starting from scratch. if not ill have to build one.

cheers

Hi Graham - since we're probably carrying on from another thread I presume you've got ideas of building another Karman Ghia - Yes? - OK the reason we went for that on Davids original was that Special Saloon regs then stated that the wheelbase had to be within 4 inches of the original production car, putting a VW KG body on a S2000 was just inside, also height was a problem - right on the limit at 43inches I seem to remember, and also the VW was a Saloon not a sportscar, otherwise it would have been a ModSport. As you can imagine we had a lot of protests at the time, don't know if your regs are as tight these days or not.
As for finding a S2000, might be a little hard, they have become very popular over the last couple of years since being brought into the 750M/C to revive the F1300 series, (now called sports 2000), also there is another series just for S2000 run by the SRCC. A few years ago you could pick up an old banger for around 2kGBP, now you'd be lucky to find anything for less than 6kGBP, I know there was someone bringing them in from the States six at a time, I'll try and find a contact for you. Meantime if you need some help I'll try and trawl the old memory banks.
What will it run in ? Hillclimbs, anything else ???
