I'm pretty sure that the electric and Supercars classes will coexist, and the top drivers will enter both. Like in the Andros Trophy.

I reckon they'll say that they are equal but that will change when Bakkerud punts Ekstrom off in Spain on the first day!!

Linneman has bought an old car there. Doubt a 2013 car will still be competitive unless his mechanics work wonders

Linneman has been wanting to get a Supercar for a while I believe but haven't really had the economy for it, hence maybe why he bought an older car. He probably got a good deal as well since Marklund IMO opinion seems to sell cars at lower prices than one might expect.

Linneman was aware of the age of the car but was still positive noting some updates had been done to the car.

Not strictly 2018 Championship news, but it looks like there is a full article on the switch to electric in the latest issue of Motorsport News.

There is also a short article on the Autosport website:

Some interesting comments in there; minimum 15 car entry required for the switch to electric in 2020 and potential for some form of international Championship for "conventional" Supercars.

I guess the source was at that meeting Pucher wrote about and the things stated in the article were some of the things they weren't allowed to tell.

"Those bodyshells are expected to be marginally wider than existing cars, and could feature larger rear aerodynamic devises." Seems like they might be moving in a similar direction to that of WRC.

The sport jutsr dies a little more every year since IMG took over.

Just hope that the real rallycross can exist.

This is all about money and manufacturers, nothing else, not fans, not tv, not anything, just money.

Csucsu confirmed that he has signed with Ots Racing to drive a Fabia R5 based Supercar. Can't see anything official confirming whether he is doing the Euro or World Championship though.

Another move I don´t understand. He obviously has the money, so why he doesn´t buy an Ex-Hansen- oder Ex-Marklund-car? These cars would still be more competitive than the Skoda.

Not that I'm biased* or anything, but that Fabia looks really good. It'll be good to see more brands in the series.

*Currently driving a Skoda Superb estate... it's my fourth Skoda. Maybe a bit biased then eh?

Sebastien Loeb Racing will enter a Peugeot 208 in WRX with Gregoire Demoustier. No affiliation with Peugeot apparently according to the article besides from the car being a Peugeot.

Looks like they will do more of a testing & develloping year in an incomplete WRX program.

Comtoyou is in talks for the second car, but it's far from sure the second car will even compete in 2018

Does Ide have any experience of rallycross already? If not it's going to be a bit of a shock to the system!

No he is a long time GT racer. Multiple GT3 race winner and the 2016 Blancpain sprint race champ.
