As of yesterday morning, no cars had been sold yet..
I went out Saturday morning and there was a fairly decent size crowd. I picked up an old Bezzy front door and a pair of cheap used rotors. My mates also grabbed a few good bargains. We went back yesterday morn and it was a ghost town...There was still heaps left and they were up for a bit of haggling, so I have now added a Bargs rear quarter panel to the pool room. I'm sure they will still have a fair bit left over today..

They're Baaaaackk!

Presumably since the auction didnt work.. they are back for sale, on my105.com

'New' WOW Wilson BF $160k

WPS Bargwanna BF $130k

WPS/WOW Wilson BF roller $60k

Being able to take a test drive before delivery is a good marketing tool

So how much of a loss are they (Racer Industries) making on this lot?

But wait, there's more!!

With your ex WPS fleet, you can buy an ex Faulkner/HYL machine, with more paint schemes than a PWR Commodore.

Seems the clear out at Racer is on in earnest....

who's going to buy this stuff at the moment? the current market for used v8 supercars seems to be dead in the water. i can only see the values of these cars crashing even further.

Up to last year, I thought the prices had gotten out of line, but the excess of supply of obsolete cars and the economic crash is finally bringing the market to some sense.

Would be a cheapish AU build up to BF you would think...

The WPS AU, as debuted in China with Mr Yoong, and upgraded to BA bodywork, is allegedly sitting in a shed at PMM for the use of the team's former owner.

The shell for sale is and always was logbooked as a BA. It was gutted of its main hardware to build up a new BA shell in the WPS workshop, which is the red WOW car for sale in the same series of ads.

So the chassis is eligible for the development series as a BA, with the potential to upgrade to BF with the appropriate bodywork/spoiler/splitter kit, likely also available from the seller.

Now if you were the owner of an AU which has just been legislated out of competition in the development series, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the AU could form the basis to build into the BA shell as advertised.

The ad suggests the drivetrain is missing, i.e. engine/gearbox/rear axle.. and likely some parts in the suspension/brakes... however if the AU was a running vehicle, a transplant is not impossible.

Better?

In my oppinion its an AU, the panel under the front windscreen, the towers have the same suspension mounting points as an AU. Maybe its a old technology BA.

This is the AU were converting to a BF.

Sounds like a bitsa to me.

Refering to GTR

Also 00 motorsport were entered as race preperation and matiance in the BA time. Convert an au to ba and relog it.
I can't recall but did they last the season?

We also know Mr Gore was never big spender on the cars.

OK I'll bite...

Why would you be converting an AU (clerly not an ex FPR AU, from the yellow cage....ex Briggs/Dawson perhaps?) to a BA in FPR get up??

Dont like the shape of AU's. It just has fpr panels. They were happy to sell there new BF ones. Car will be painted in our scheme when its done.

It has a patrizi front right quater, richards foof and boot and a winterbottom splitter and bumpers, Britek engine

Now thats a bitsa!!!!!!

Thanks Profi. Where did the car come from? I think Rod Dawson , Gary Deane and Matthew White all had ex Briggs Betta cars at one time or another.

Nice work profii, converting another of Matty White's discards so the Malaysians can pay well over the odds for the car to run in Mederka.

Do you even tell them the upgrade has never been allowed to run?

The ex-Noske 00 Motorsport AU ended up in China for the first laps taken by a V8Supercar on that circuit. Mr Rogers brought a ride car with him from memory and did hot laps for the officials.

An AU to BA conversion will allegedly not create the exact same silhouette as a full blown BA, the suspension locations are not identical either, from memory...

MWR did convert an ex-Briggs AU to BA body spec, and onsold it to Asia, to run in a Malaysian endurance race, but it was never a compliant spec for any V8Supercar event

The roof, doors and pillars are the same. The au bonnet and boot is more slopy. The rear rails are different.

BTW BA and BF suspension fits perfect on the au, the only difference is the upright. AU had rod ends in bending.

I thought the AU roof was slighly different to the BA, due to the AU's extra-rounded rear windsecreen. The top corners of it are squarer on the BA/BF.

Also, you can see the GRM car behind the AU in that pic.
