Can-Am Mini Challenge Race at Mid-Ohio

Racers and enthusiasts of the Mini are invited to join us for an epic all-Classic Mini Race!

2014 is the Fifty-fifth anniversary of the indomitable Mini, and there will be a number of exciting events featuring the Mini worldwide. In North America, we are celebrating the Mini's competition history properly with a classic rivalry showdown between the American and Canadian Mini racers.

The race will be held June 26th to 29th, at the challenging circuit of Mid-Ohio. The event is professionally sanctioned by the Sports Car Vintage Racing Association, the premier Vintage racing sanctioning body in the US. Racers will compete in one of five trophy classes, which recognizes the many levels of car preparation over the decades of competition. An impressive list champion drivers and historically significant Minis are on the preliminary entry list. In addition to Vintage, Miglia, and GT Minis, Mini-powered variants such as the Ogle, Unipower, GTM, Riley Elf, Wolseley Hornet, Marcos, and Mini "Specials" such as the Mini Sprint, Reptune GT, and Broadspeed GT are also invited to participate in this event.

With preliminary entries in excess of ninety cars, and drivers from Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, the event promises to be the largest-ever all Classic Mini race in North America. There will also be a gathering of Mini enthusiasts and owners, to cheer on their favorite race car and join in the weekend celebrations, including a track parade, BBQ, car show, and other activities.
