DNQ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Your dream calendar

Here's the deal. AVESCO comes to you and asks you to draw up the 2002 V8 Supercar calendar. Keep in mind, you must have around 12 races and include events in as many states at possible.

My dream calendar would be:

Rnd 1: Symmons Plains, Tasmania
Rnd 2: Philip Island, Victoria
Rnd 3: Adelaide 500, South Australia
Rnd 4: Canberra GMC 400, ACT (A bit earlier so it's not too cold)
Rnd 5: Lakeside, Queensland
Rnd 6: Barbagallo, Western Australia
Rnd 7: Hidden Valley, Northern Territory (Later in year, better weather)
Rnd 8: Calder Park, New South Wales
Rnd 9: Queensland 500, Queensland
Rnd 10: Pukekohe, New Zealand
Rnd 11: Sandown, Victoria

Non Championship
Albert Park, Victoria
Surfer's Paradise, Queensland
Bathurst, New South Wales

--------------------------

Right, 11 races, plus non-championship races at Albert Park, Gold Coast, and of course Bathurst. The tracks I've scrapped are Oran Park, Winton and Eastern Creek (all to boring).

What is your dream calendar?

Of course, Calder Park is in Victoria. Silly me. Must be the excitement of Ford winning.

Hey ! I like Oran Park - that's my 2nd favourite circuit..and like Eastern Creek it's only 20 minutes or so away from my house.

12 rounds? Bah! I'd turn it into a "show" like sprintcars!

Rnd 1. Lakeside
Rnd 2. Morgan Park
Rnd 3. Carnell Park
Rnd 4. Surfers Paradise (we'll repave the old girl!)
Rnd 5. Queensland Raceway (short circuit A)
Rnd 6. Newcastle (that new club venue they are making)
Rnd 7. Oran Park
Rnd 8. Wakefield Park
Rnd 9. Eastern Creek
Rnd 10. Warwick Farm (go on, bring it back!)
Rnd 11. Broadford (after a little widening)
Rnd 12. Winton
Rnd 13. Calder
Rnd 14. Sandown
Rnd 15. Phillip Island
Rnd 16. Baskerville
Rnd 17. Symmons Plains
Rnd 18. Adelaide International
Rnd 19. Mallala
Rnd 20. Barbagallo

Then you would have the endurance championship
Rnd 1. Sandown 500
Rnd 2. Queensland 499
Rnd 3. Adelaide 501
Rnd 4. Canberra 400
Rnd 5. Freemantle street race
Rnd 6. A lap of Tasmania
Rnd 7. Bathurst

Pheeww! Now that should keep the fans happy...screw the teams though!

I like your calendar crash, but I think you need to spread them around a little. Three NSW rounds in a row is not a good idea.

Good idea to bring back the old Surfers track too. And is rd6 of the endurance championship Targa Tassie?

Nah, just a lap. Tell the locals to stay inside for the day

I can see them hiring one of those big TNT transporters that they transport 20 of the Porsche Cup cars around the nation. Rock up to each of the tracks, saves a heap on transport costs .

Plus you would have mid week races (probably at night) in the regional tracks. Of course it will all be televised live on TNN....hangon, thats WoO!

Sorry, i'll stop sniffing turps now

There's a thought, stick the big transporter on a barge, tack a few more sprint rounds onto the end of that part of the season, and then bring back Wellington! Heck, if it's ok to race at the Canberra go-kart track, I'm sure it would fit in well

yeah, why not! if they can travel from one side of Aussie to the other then they can come here.

And after Wellington they might as well head up to Centenial Park in Taupo, 32 supercars around that 1.5 km track would go down a treat!

nz_tourer- Bah! I think Morgan Park is 1.2km long, and Carnell Park would be shorter than that

They'd have to chain the two lines af cars together demolition derby style- I'd like to see that!
