I wish they would bring back CER (vintage) racing on the ELMS weekends, certainly enjoyed it when they ran as one race group on Saturdays at the end of the afternoon. Brought some great variety to the events and a true tribute to the sportscar and Le Mans heritage!

Surely the logical solution would be for MVDS to keep going next year . I heard on Midweek Motorsport about Corvette rumours for TDS, that'd be awesome too as would be a Viper. Either way it won't be another Ferrari Porsche or Aston so that's good news for the class in terms of variety. |

This might be better in the LMP3 thread (but I'll leave it to chernaudi to double post )
Alex Brundle will be one of the drivers for the recently announced United Autosport LMP3 (Ligier) effort in next year's ELMS. Great news for him and the team. I did wonder who was going to be knocking on his door after his superb return stint last week. |

Yeah next year is going to kick ass. Will be quite a few new cars along with other new teams plus the addition of Spa and a half decent support schedule to go with it.

Probably, but there’s one big question mark, and that’s the availability of Le Mans entries. In the past we have seen some ELMS teams pull out after not getting a LM 24 entry. It remains to be seen what happens if some of the current or new teams end up well down the alternate list come February…

The P3 announcements for next year have been coming like nothing before so I spend a little time lining them up - the numbers are absolutely unbelievable!
19 cars announced - 18 Ligiers! (Lanan the only one so far to have confirmed sticking with Ginetta) 3 more cars expected: 2x G-Private with a couple of Adess cars + RLR/University of Bolton will most likely continue with their Ginetta (they add a new Ligier as well) 12 more cars could be possible entries, again most of them Ligiers (8) with 2 Ginettas and a single Adess. Also one still undecided (Murphy). Without a doubt some of those entries will not materialize, we might see some in French GT/P3. But with 12-15 P2s and around 10 GTE's expected we could see grid bolstering to 40-45 (or maybe even more?) cars! It's clear ELMS is returning to its glory days of the mid-2000s!

Nice list, I hadn't really paid attention as of late so the LMP3 number really came as quite shock. Even if majority of those will inevitably not materialize because of *history*, and there's also the post LM withdrawal syndrome now for this class too (you know with the LM MGT3CUP support race accepting full season P3s only), it's still impressive
PS. Even if they were to reach 40-50 car grids again after the long hiatus, it won't return to 'ELMS' glory days without LMP1 and with solely proam structure... but it will be the better than in around the last five years Last edited by Deleted; 12 Nov 2015 at 22:55. |

I'm not going to lie, yeah, P1's are awesome and all, but, It sure would be fun to see the ELMS and IMSA hook up for Daytona, Sebring, and Petit...or at least one of them.

Agree however I don't think many would wanna join if it was just regular round even with usual point scoring, as PLM 2012 showed (alright that ELMS season was total crap by that point, but still). You'd have to add extra carrots like auto LM invites for every class winner of the event, like PLM used to do

LM Garage 56 entrant Frederic Sausset to join ELMS grid for Silverstone and possibly Imola in preparation for the big one.
The Audi engine in the back of the OAK run P2 Morgan spyder is confirmed, an interesting development but not so sure if that will work out since it's an entirely new P2 engine (?) and a new chassis-engine combo (which requires chassis mods and all to accomodate the power plant), Sausset is also talking about it being "a real challenge'. Seems strange when all sorts of tried and reliable options like the Nissan, Judd and HPD enignes are available - and one of those already installed in the chassis! Audi surely is backing this project but still. Do we know more info about the engine or Audi's involvement? (I haven't paid too much attention to this project so far). from http://www.dailysportscar.com/2015/1...ms-season.html |

He has support from Audi and currently runs an Audi S3 motor in his VdeV car. The V8 is a development of their DTM engine.

Prospeed and a Corvette. Didn't expect that seen as Penders is a Porsche dealer (unless that has changed). |

I'm wondering if Rudi Penders has called Patrick Selleslagh (or maybe even joined forces?) to help him set up this deal with P&M???
Excellent news - an unique car and great addition for the ELMS and especially for their somewhat struggling GTE class! |

SRT has old C6.R GT2 in some warehouse collecting dust (that they already contemplated on fielding this year), so if they were involved with this deal they'd probably just utilized that old chassis and cried for BoP instead of getting expensive C7.R. Just like SRT did with DKR/"EBC" in 2011 and MadCroc/Kuismanen in 2010, running their old GT1 Corvettes from FIA GT days. Even in IGTO and Dutch Supercar they continued on fielding oldies.
So Prospeed, prob alone or with someone else. Anyway, how far they've come to this point... AF Corse vs Prospeed used to be epic in FIA GT... |

Tis a thought. Maybe it's a SRT manned effort just with Prospeed branding. Either way it's great to see for ELMS and I hope Xavier Massen gets a seat. |

Well, that was unexpected. I wonder what kind of livery they are going to use.

Could be the first non generic-yellow Corvette livery in ACO racing since the LAA GT1s in 2010
(Larbre still has substantial yellow presence in it despite the new white and black shades) |

TDS is going for a GTE car because the GT3 stops, it will be a Ferrari or Aston.
What will happen with the other GT3 cars/teams, will they all join the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup like FF Corse already did with the new Ferrari 488 GT3? can't really find some news about this series that will be supporting the ELMS races.. |
