Hope it gets sorted, as the engine felt good for the 3 laps of warm up! Boys may have to employed.

I think peenuts can run a different engine this year due to a 'clarification' in the regs. Last year he hed to run an 1800 Zetec block, as that is the one that was originally fitted to the fiesta - not sure of the wording for this year, but it's something like 'derivative' block provided the original crank fits. The 2.0 Zetec and 1.8 Zetec block are from the same family, and I believe take the same crank - I think only the bore is different, and the block is cast with a 18 or 20 in the side. Accordingly peenuts wants to run a 2.0 this year - I've told him to check with the eligibility scrutineer to make sure the above is correct. Graham - you are correct as he could run exactly the same engine he ran last year. Peenuts - you are correct as you can now run a 2.0 block that you couldn't run last year. Gentlemen, please feel free to shoot me down if I'm talking complete ******** !

Still not looked at the engine after it let go last season and if I bought my old Historic tub out you would all be moaning at the mobile chicane.

Yes Al,but the car would be quite competitive.

i wont go into a a public debate on blocks here, BUT i feel it is unfair for peanuts to keep making posts which suggest regulation changes have forced him into an engine change when they clearly havnt, if anything they have worked to his advantage if he wants to explote it, and seeing as we have a competitive 1800cc alfa, and a 1601cc escort in an upto 2000cc class elsewhere, and nigel craig with a 2200cc atmo engine won class B last year which was full of silly power turbo cars, it proves you dont have to have the biggest most powerfull allowable engine to be competitive

rant over!

id like to see you old tub out Al if for no other reason i like the look of it, i'm sure you'd get a dammed good race what ever its pace, but for me thats still what its about having a good race rather than your actual position, afterall compaired to some cars out ther i drive a mobile chicane and was quite often last year when the various pipes or turbo was falling off!!!

Graham i run last year in the fiesta at the back of the field having to work my bol..... off and get the most out of the car. you miss my point money spent in gearbox and 1800 engine to improve performance of car against 2.0ltr cars yes .the reg change for crank came in this year after spent money
sorry if i sound peed off i am regs should have stayed the same for this year
and up dated for next season that is my point not changed at the last minute
unable to sort 2.0 ltr till later having to put 1800 in just to get out in late summer.Phil
ps i think that enough now so let it be.

sorry you feel like that phil, this is a good case for asking the organisers or scruitineers what can or cant do first rather than just relying on your own interpritation of the rules or what other competitors say.
especially before complaining on a public forum like this one.

there was no reason why you couldnt of used a 2.0 last year anyway! cranks have allways been free and the rules allowed other variations on orgional blocks, which is why i keep saying the rules havnt changed. but having spent money on better gearboxes etc than you probably will have gained more speed than a swap to a 2.0 anyway, what ever happens your in an upto 2.0 class, as we have never had an 1800 cc class limit

anyway enough of that it will be good to see you back on circuit.

i dont think so, i wouldnt expect the beemer to beat the merc too often, i think the only departments in which have the merc beaten is power and driver poverty!

Bugger, I am driving my Jaguar in the Thoroughbreds race that day. Thinks I will have to do some juggling to get both cars there if my chief sponsor isn't mobile by then.
