EURO 3000 series defines budget in push for drivers

Euro F3000 organisers ESTA has revelaed that a budget that a driver needs for a season is $450,000. Pretty steep for a feeder series dont u think? Heres the full article http://www.crash.net/news_detail.asp...0&language_id=

True but F3000 is a lot better in terms of the cars and the venues they race at, also it gets a lot more exposure. Considering Euro F3000 only gets a 5 minute slot on Eurosport and nothing else tv wise Id say that was still asking a bit much.

How much is it for a drive in the TWS?

Are there money prizes for the top 3 winners of this series or something like that?

Delighted to finally meet (sic) someone as enthusiastic about F3000 as me - only 18 years after they invented it!

Considering that F.Atlantics costs twice that, I think it's a good deal!

its what it cost, thats the truth, but as NME sais the Nissan option is better. The 3000 should ofer something juicy in exchange, like F-1 test deal or somthing like that, if not Nissan is the option

$450,000? That's cheaper than a top drive in British F3, I believe.

Euro 3000 Series – 2003 budget required

The budget required for the season 2003 is of $ (American dollars) 450.000,00 - € 450.000,00 and it includes:

- 10 races in Europe;
- 6 days of common test (with Friday test –of the weekend race- included);
- 4 engine hours for the private test for each car (they correspond to 6/7 test days).

The weekend race it’s composed of 3 days:

Friday: 2 hours of free practice important to know the track and to begin the set up work on the car.

Saturday: one free practice session and one qualifying session.

Sunday: warm-up and race.

The budget required includes all the expenses for the racing cars for the races and tests, as written in the Regulation F.I.A. for the Euro 3000 Series, and includes the subscriptions to the Championship, the various tests and the costs for the team staff..

A budget more solid includes also the insurance coverage, the kasko for the car (for the race and the test), the apartment for the driver, the subscription to a training personalized service care of an important Centre with the possibility for a daily attendance, physical check-up and special tests for the physical and mental preparation. There is also the possibility to attend some centres where the motor racing training is alternated with other gym activities like canoe, bicycle, etc. This budget it can also includes a road car at disposal of the driver, some trainings with a Go-kart team during all the season (at the discretion of the team manager), the flights for the farer circuits, a language course – full immersion (one week), the hotel and the accommodation for the driver during the tests and the races.

The car, Lola B99/50, that will be utilized next season in the Euro 3000 Series will use a new compound of tyre supplied by the Avon (already tested at Vallelunga on 24th November during a private test; see press release previously sent) that resulted being ½ second faster and more performante than the previous one (2002).

Further technical improvements, for the upcoming season, are being done and will soon tested.

The calendar 2003 will be composed of 10 races, 7 on F.1 Grand Prix circuits. The Organizator of the championship “International Promotions” managed by Mr. P.L. Corbari is preparing other big news that regard the promotional and advertising aspect.

I think it's a great series.
A couple of years ago I was offered a ride for just £100,000. Not any more, I think....

i think it sounds quite good. F3000 is twice the budget and i doubt you would get as much seat time.

I think rather predictably, JR is a pseudonym, so no oil cash!
I am a competent club level racer and could have helped fill out the field - no more. The offer was a genuine bargain but I decided not to spend my hard earned cash!
PS Don't call me Italian

SpawnyWhippet has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Seems a lot to me, I used to run my own F3 car for around $20k US per year. Granted, it turned up to the circuit in a tatty old box trailer being towed by a 25 year old motorhome, but it did the business.

Either you have a time machine or you were looking at the threads in reverse order. If you have a time machine I'd sell it to fund a decent F3 ride mate!
