My Custom ALMS Valve Cover!

Despite much criticism from certain members of this site, I've gone one to design and create the custom ALMS themed valve cover for my dad for Christmas.

However, I've come up with an design that shouldn't bother anyone. I decided that since it was for my dad, I'd have the cover be a reminder of all the racing him and I have seen together. Featured on the cover are the track maps of all the tracks him and I have seen races at together. The cover itself is just our basic Chevy Small Block V8 cover with a black powder-coated finish.

I'm really happy with how it came out!!

Sorry the pics are so large.

Wow I really like it! In fact, if my dad had a car worth making something nice for, and if I were a bit more handy, I'd love to make a present like this for my dad (we also go to races together). I'm sure your dad'll love it

I think that is top-notch. Very groovy, as it were. What were the criticisms about? It seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to do to me...

Someone on this site thought I'd be "stealing intellectual property" by doing this. It became a big fiasco, but it's not really worth mentioning anymore.

Not by "doing this." Rather by doing "something else." It seems, from your text above, that the distinction isn't lost on you.

Yes, the valve cover is nice.

No, these aren't going on an engine, they're just decorative/sentimental.

Could be a market for cool valve covers .

Black with someones personal name on or personal saying.

Think about it.

There definitely is, and we do tons of custom jobs at work. That's how we could justify purchasing over $100,000 in laser engravers.

We do TONS of engraved stuff for Shelby, but we'll definitely do one offs. Obviously if it's something we're going to sell, we have to be within our license agreements but aside from that, the sky is the limit. You can even do photographs, although we haven't figured out how yet.
