I tend to agree re double headers but if that's the way to get cars on the grid then so be it.

Sadly I shan't be out to play due to logistics. A Sunday race means two non working days (min) for me plus flights, a Saturday race means one.

My calendar is already decided and I'm looking at longer distance races again this year.

AGD A105/6 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The annual Sunbeam Challenge Race, now sponsored by J. O. Engineering, is still looking to confirm a venue for 2009. Previously we have run 15-minute races at AMOC meetings, such as the Silverstone day so eloquently reported on by Mr Turner last year, as several Tigers and Alpines run in the Intermarque championship, but it seems that suitable slots are thin on the ground this year.

If anyone can suggest an organiser / venue for our 2009 outing, please do!!

Not strictly a race meeting, but the 3rd Week-end de L'Excellence Automobile at Reims has been confirmed as 25-27 September which of course clashes with Spa you-know-what.......

I don't think they've revealed the attractions yet but it will effectively be the 40th anniversary of the end of racing there.

Far be it from me to be in conflict with the avowed intent of the Spa 6 hour lovies but that weekend is also the Eiffelrennen at Nurburgring. There are a great number of races for historics both on the Grand Prix circuit and on the Nordschleife - AND if you haven't driven round the Nordscheife in an MGB you haven't lived.

I'll go with that Compte,I would always do the 6hr and then a few weeks later go back and do the 300k on the ring, then they changed the dates!I have to say that the 300 was one event I thoroughly enjoyed, not just the racing but also meeting up with European friends as well,an excellent weekend. At least this year IF one of the two events should not run,it would not be too difficult to choose!

I have already agreed on the 6hr with Vincent. In the unlikely event that that should get cancelled, then it will be the Nurburgring.

Thanks to MGDavid and Moosehead, and others who view 10/10ths, for the various suggestions for the Sunbeam Challenge slot, we now have a much wider range of options and hope to post the decision within a few days. Not an easy task given the spread of locations of the likely participants, and the considerations of clashing / complimentary races, but at least we have more choices now!

Pleased to confirm that the 2009 J O Engineering Sunbeam Challenge race will take place on 9th August at Silverstone as part of the BDC weekend, which is a great chance to showcase our oft-overlooked race cars to a different audience.

Rumours abound of serious engine work on a few Tigers over the Winter, so Chris Beighton and Jackie Cochrane might find it a bit more crowded out front, meanwhile at the other end I'm looking forward to some good racing with some of the Alpines.

Thanks to the many Ten-Tenthers who contributed ideas and venues!
